Thinking about it .. Sony is one of the only companies who could manufacture their own ram and ssd the quickest if need be.

you guys are really scared to pay big bucks for ps6... but get ready for it... as is stands now nothing is gonna come cheap next gen, on any plat you choose

No matter how hard you cope, Playstation will also be affected by the bullshit that is going on. We are all fucked.
Yes but PC gaming already is.

So you are basically telling us "2 more weeks" and hoping consoles are affected too while PC gaming is actually already burning down and ram prices are thru the roof.

This actually already proves that consoles are far more insulated.

PC gaming has already felt the price hike. It's already a 500% increase on ram in some cases.

You as PC gamers may hope it also affects playstation. I think it will but not much. I personally think it would affect the launch of the PS6 and Sony should bump it till 2028 but I don't think it will affect the price of the PS5 much this gen and perhaps not the Switch 2 at all, in the US that is. Even if it does, we are talking small increases. Due to economies of scales and bulk ordering Nintendo and Sony actually pay pennies on the dollar for memory vs the consumer market, so the price increase in static dollars for them will not be as substantial as it is direct to consumers(500% increases and hundreds of extra dollars for PC gaming today vs 2 months ago, whereas the price of manufacturing a Switch 2 might only increase a few dollars per unit). The only way a console would see nearly the static increase as a newly built PC would be if console manufacturers got greedy and used this as an excuse to jack up prices. Furthermore, Sony already purchased ram thru the fiscal year, so consoles get a large warning this is coming and 3-6 months to buy consoles for cheap, PS5 was even on sale for black friday. Meanwhile the price increases have already hit the PC market and anyone buying now is too late.

PC gaming is hardly burning down right now. Majority of PC gamers use prebuilts and laptops and pricing on that has not been affected as much. Even for self built PCs total build cost has gone up by around 10-15% at most.

And no, should pricing contract renewal time come around, Sony will probably have to fork out an extra $20 for the RAM alone at current prices (that may increase, who knows). Sony isn't nearly a large enough customer to get favorable rates, assuming they can even get RAM at all.
