First tragedy, then farce.
I'm thinking about moving to Canada for a number of reasons.. but have some concerns..

1) Can you get non-Canadian beer? because it sucks.

2) Do you get ESPN?

3) Can I get MLB extra innings, NBA season pass and NFL sunday ticket? (i.e. all the games)

4) Can I get U.S. college football games? because that would really suck if I could never see my horns :( can you get the ESPN plus packages up there?

5) Do you get the majority of the TV that we get in the US or not?

If you cant tell I like sports, and dont want to get stuck watching some canadian colleges compete in curlling or whatever the hell yall do up there.

Stay the fuck out with that attitude.

I'm only half kidding...but now, in most cases you can get Sunday Ticket, not sure about the rest...and where do you live now? It matters when deciding what coverage you'll get from American channels.

You've got to be kidding me, canadian beer >>> american, we dont drink some watered down horse piss with a low alcohol percentage here.

Yes we have ESPN, i dont know about tickets though. And yes, pretty much all american channels are found in canada depending on your provider, star choice satellite has pretty much all of them, minus the cartoon network which i cant seem to find anywhere. Anyway, there's plenty of US channels, overloaded in fact, it takes from 300 all the way to 698 on starchoice, with some canadian english channels inbetween but the majority is US.

Wait.. no cartoon network?

how do you live without adult swim?

Note: I dont actually drink american beer.. I generally drink Dos Equis which is Mexican.. or Red Stripe which is Jamacain.. the only American beer I ever drink is Shiner Bock, but you cant get that outside of Texas with any consistency, so I had allready written that off.

For some reason Canada is only allowed to have one channel devoted to cartoons. This comes up quite often over on the animeondvd.com forum. I may be wrong, but I know there is some legal clause preventing CN from airing up there.

Kokanee fucking rocks. And if you don't like our beer, our sports, and our TV, you can stay the fuck in yankland, yank.

We have YTV and Teletoon. Teletoon is the one that airs adult cartoons at later time, like starting at 9 or 10 pm its adult shows. They have the meatball, talking fry, and talking drinkn show, whatever its called. Then they have that lawyer super hero cartoon, and some other ones.

Sounds like you want to move up to Canada... so you can drink American beer and watch American sports?

:confused

There are conservatives in Canada, too, you know.

HBO shows usually air on Movie Central

We have Comedy Central I believe

...and ESPN? We have TSN, which is better :p

If you move up here and want american programming just get direct tv (you can get free prgramming up here pretty easily), or get one of those big ass dishes. We had one of those big dishes and just told the people we lived in the states (gave em my uncles address in illinois) so we could get all the american programming.

This post is hilarious.

Seriously, if you're gonna ask questions like that (especially about the beer), stay out.

Yeah, like most things in north america, the beer isn't just made in canada. Molson, budweiser, kokanee, Reineer, fosters, anything you can think of can be bought at a liquer store, atleast in my area. As for our beer sucking, I can't stand any type of beer so I reallycan't agree or disagree with that.

2) Do you get ESPN?
Not that I know of , but we do get 4 or 5 equivalent channels with canadian cable. CTV sportsnet, cbc sports, TSN, Speedvision.

3) Can I get MLB extra innings, NBA season pass and NFL sunday ticket? (i.e. all the games) I'm pretty sure you can do the NFL sunday ticket with digital cable and satalite but I don't know about MLB.

4) Can I get U.S. college football games? because that would really suck if I could never see my horns :( can you get the ESPN plus packages up there?

I have no idea.

I'd say about 90% of worthwhile american TV can either be seen on imported american channels or canadian channels . In some cases we get it 6 months to a year after the US but that's what cheap broadband internet is for :p

Uh hope that helps a bit. Stick to BC, Alberta or Ontario if you move, even BC is a bit iffy economy wise.

The satellite option sounds like a good one, although it's best to do research to find out just what channels you can get.

As for beer, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and interpret "non-Canadian" beers to mean imports like Corona, Guiness, Heineken, etc.

Although I know at the Ontario Beer Store they sell Sam Adams....

Almost no one here watches College football, it's just not interesting to us. I am also one of those western guys who drinks Kokanee :) TSN is better than ESPN IMO, it carrys more of the sports I want to watch, a lot less junk (ie. darts ect.)
