What's the origin of that two-part photo with the white guys looking boring at some kind of press event, then the same guys are all excited in the shot below?

Also, will I actually ever have a question answered in this thread?

It's from an E3 press event. In the actual event they were excited at first about the announcement of some video game product, but then bored and depressed when the details of the product were revealed to be lame. Unfortunately, I can't remember what the product was.

You talkin about Gajin 4Koma?

Okay got a really stupid question...trying to figure out what this song is. It's got this kind of consistent break beat, with an Indian sounding string instrument being played somewhat quickly in the background. I can't even remember if it had vocals. It's irritating me and I can't even describe it any better, so total shot in the dark.

this summer i have been drinking some sort of beer in Denmark that had 10.x % alcohol content and some weird artsy label on the can. got a name or a link for that one?

I made a thread asking this, but didn't get any feedback:

I've been using this for the past few years:

http://www.superwarehouse.com/NEC_Mu...WMGX2/p/730005

It's definitely a monitor first in that playing 360 games in 720p looks like absolute shit. The screen is also getting cloudy around the edges, so I figure it's time for an upgrade.

I need a TV to be used at a desk, that will be used for both gaming and as a monitor for my MBP. My current monitor is 20'', but I'm more than willing to get something bigger (maximum of 30'', I'd imagine) if I don't spend more than 500 dollars. What should I get?

Any help is greatly appreciated, as I'm pretty out of the loop when it comes to TVs.

I'm not sure if they've simply stopped selling them where I live (Caribbean) but whatever happened to those duracell batteries with the yellow strips that give a reading on the strength of the battery? Haven't seen any in ages. Are they still sold elsewhere?

Yeah they stopped selling those about 10 years ago. According to Duracells website they're back though. I never see em.

It's the guys from IGN. The first pick is their reaction to Nintendo's 2003 E3 where they showed PacMan or something. Then the second pic is their reaction to Twilight Princess in 2004.

Just looked a little bit what danish 10.x% beers you could buy here in Sweden, and found this one. Has a "weird artsy" label at least. :lol You didn't give us a lot to work with though.

Why can't I save in ZSNES? I've had this problem before, but I can't seem to remember what to do. If I quicksave with F2 I can load it as long as I have ZSNES running, but if I close it down, everything resets.

Last time I had this it was just a minor mistake, but I forgot what to do. Help me.

heh, thanks but nope. it was in a silver/chrome 0.5L can. the label was some blue/violet ish abstract painting. I don't think there was a big (as in print size) label printed on the can.

it had a bit of a red-bull ish taste and fucked you up REEALLY good :lol

edit: found it on that website!

I always thought it was the same conference. They're in the same spots but not sure about clothes.

Naw, different conferences. They couldn't get a similar shot for 2004 in the theater (and one of the guys had left since then) so they staged the second shot.

Mind blown!

I thought the conference was boring until they announced Zelda.

Meh, now I don't like it so much!:lol

I have a research paper coming up at the end of the semester and I have a question...

My teacher needs me to cite 3 primary sources and 3 secondary sources.

One of those sources has to be an Article (newspaper or anything else)... I'm trying to get one from NYTimes and Washington Post but I have to pay to look at archived stuff. Is there anything to get around it or look somewhere else?

My topic is Wernher Von Braun and his career in the US Army and NASA program.

Why is Mark Antony not referred to his original real Latin name Marcus Antonius in the English-speaking world? Julius Ceasar is not called Jules for example. Not to mention Augustus, Brutus, Claudius and Marcus Aurelius just to name a few famous Roman people. I know translating names is quite common but why did they only translate his name of all Roman persons? What makes him so unique?

It just seems so random. Surely there must be a specific explanation.

Shakespeare.

Well I haven't read it but my point simply is that Mark Antony has gotten his name translated to it's English equivalent while other roman figures, such as Julius Ceasar in this very same play, clearly haven't. And I wonder exactly why that is.

Ah. I was attempting to answer your general question--Mark Antony is usually referred to that way due to Shakespeare. As for why Shakespeare did it, I couldn't say. Maybe for metric reasons?

So basically nobody knows for sure? Seems rather odd. I believe there is a logic/reason behind everything and you just have to find it.

Thanks anyway I guess.

It may have been Shakespeare like Cyan said, but if it was, he wasn't simply giving him a nickname like "Jules" (actually Jules would be Frenchifying it). Marc Antony takes off the declension ending -us. We did the same thing for July from Julius, and the other months. That's not really helpful, but I'm just saying, there was a method.

Since Antony was the main character, perhaps anglicizing his name was to make it more palatable and distinguishable from the rest.

Well I don't know anyone, especially a man called July so Jules was just the first name I thought of. Antony or Anthony is a pretty common name on the other hand. The Italian/Spanish equivalent would naturally be Antonio just like Julio for Julius.

The last part of him being the main character, meaning the audience would identify with him more and set him apart is probably the most logical reason though, so yeah.

My computer is working extra hard the past couple of days. Taking 3-4x as long as usual to do basic tasks, Task Manager says the CPU usage is around 80-90%, and the cooling fan has been going bonkers (which it does when CPU usage goes that high).

And that's just when I'm reading GAF. I'm not sure how to diagnose what's going on or find out what's it's chewing on, aside from the old Task Manager, which doesn't show what's going on. Any ideas what I can do?

need help from photoshop GAF

Could someone make a better looking version of this image? I had to do it in paint. Just Jesus holding "my hair is a bird" Nick Cage.
also, if you could remove the bird so that he looks like a conehead, that would be great

Go to Processes in task manager and see what's using the CPU that much.

Start the Task manager, switch over to the processes tab, click on "Show processes from all users" at the bottom, authenticate, click on the CPU column header to sort all processes according to their CPU usage. Note which processes use up the most CPU, then come back and tell us.

If Task Manager pretends it doesn't know what eats your CPU, then that's a warning sign. Go get the free Process Explorer from the MS site, then report back.

It could also be wise to do a thorough Malware (Spybot S&D, ...) and Virus scan (Avira etc). If you're legit and don't already use it, then download the MS Security Essentials. They're, well, essential.

I have to pick between Cox and Time Warner for my internet in my new apartment. How do I find the one that isn't going to throttle my bandwidth, charge me ridiculous fees and offer crappy customer service?

Am I alone in having serious trouble with getting youtube videos to load correctly? Most of the time, videos just randomly stod loading in the middle of the transfer. Currently using FF, haven't tried other browsers. Pretty sure it started when I moved to a new ISP about two months back but I'm not sure. I went from 8/1mbit to 100/100 (in reality around 30/30) so it can't be that my connection is lousy (Halo Reach seems to disagree on that though. My upload bandwidth is "average" there O_o).

Currently, FF is taking up 300mb ram, with an additional 350mb for something called plugin container? But that's nothing new for me as it's usually at 1gb for the most part. 100 tabs is nothing :)

do you mean the video stops while its playing and shows the loading symbol? cause if so yea i had that problem on FF also as well as FF taking up to much resources. Switched to chrome and its miles better. but i still yearn for my FF at times:lol

I just started working out at the gym maybe 2 day ago and at first while working out i feel a little exhaustion but after awhile i feel fantastic, why is this? is my body releasing certain chemicals?

I spilled water all over my laptop(keyboard and screen)
It's working fine, but should I worry or do something besides waiting for it to dry?

You might want to keep it off until it dries completely. After it's dried, it should be back to normal unless you have lots of minerals in your water (which most likely won't do anything anyway).
