This week's Famitsu scan (Nintendogs, killer 7, kagero2 etc)

New doggy types!
I am SO in love wid dees widdle puppies!

EDIT: Crap, that's cool. Hold the bubble thing with the stylus and I assume you blow in the mic to blow bubbles... That is cool.

Are there any actual release dates for ...

Mario Kart DS
Advance Wars DS
Final Fantasy III
Nintendogs
Advance Wars DS

This is getting a bit frustrating.

i'd love to see a K7 style game without the fantasy elements. Like a serious detective scenario set in a realistic world, but rendered with those graphics.

Thanks for the scans again. Nice coverage overall, but the selection this time isn't too interesting. But next week! FFXII!! :D

Killer 7 just keeps getting weirder

It's very typical of Grasshopper original games to look really weird and funky, play like shit and be "niche" and all. I don't expect anything different from Killer 7 really, except all the hype it was getting for being one of Capcom's GC exclusives.... oh wait. :lol

Yeah they should be unlockable food to feed the higher level dogs with. OMG TEH MATURE! :lol

Grasshopper isn't handling the game itself, I don't think. I was under the impression that they were handling the story and that production studio 4 was taking care of the actual game. I'm catching a lot of RE4/Pn03 vibes from Killer 7.

For me the hype was because it´s visual style that I keep liking a lot (even If I think ultimately it´s a little overworked, I liked more the emptier scenarios of the first images).

Thank for the scans neo!

That Famitsu scan says Nintendogs is April.

Ok I'm reading the interview, some interesting notes to point out:

- Sakaguchi takes about the DS allowing new interfaces for gaming. He mentions how he played Sim City and Mahjong on his PDA with a touch panel and that's where he got the idea of using touch panels to make game interfaces.

- Sakaguchi also namedrops FFT and Matsuno while talking about why he's doing a Simulation RPG. He seems to like Matsuno quite a bit from all his interviews, hope that friendship rubs off positively on him. If not he better as Matsuno for more advice! :D

- It's clarificed that Minaba did NOT leave Square Enix to join Mistwalker. Just like Uematsu did, in November last year he decided to go freelance and form his own art design studio called Design Nation. He is supporting Mistwalker in art design just like Uematsu's Smile Please is supporting Mistwalker in music. Interesting.

- Minaba is designing the jacket cover for the new album of The Black Mages.

- Sakaguchi himself will be producer, scenerio writer and game design planner at Mistwalker. He has a staff of about 10 game designers on the team which expand on his original ideas.

- He wants the game to have 4-5 party members in a group facing maybe 3 enemies at once. He's being vague about the game so it's uncertain what he really has in mind and it sounds pretty normal for a Simulation RPG party size.

- It's a fantasy based scenerio and Minaba is creating the worldview design based on the scenerio, etc. Standard art designer talk. He goes on to talk about ancient ruins, etc. He should shut up and roll a trailer. :)

The rest of the interview isn't too interesting because it talks about the future of Mistwalker on the DS if it does well, potential for new game systems, etc.

What's the game on the upper right of the first page?

And regarding the second one; is that a Pikmin pocket USB drive?

The game is Another Code: The Two Memories.

The advert is pencil lead for mechanical pencils. Not a USB drive, sorry.

Why can't I never see the scans that neo posts? I keep getting this error message:

Remember tamagotchis?

Even if the market was just little girls, and it's not, what does it matter? They want to go after every market they can, and that, shockingly enough, doesn't mean only making games that appeal to you.

Seriously.. what the HECK is Nintendo thinking with that dog game? Where's the market for that? Little girls?
it's probably a more sophisticated virtual pet game.

so the target audience should be teen girls

since the intarweb is filled with blokes, and various forums going crazy on the sight of Nintendogs, I think Nintendo got a nice killer-app here.

I admit a dinosaur-game would've been better...

Well my girlfried, who has previously only played two games (Animal Crossing & umm, Time Crisis) already has it preordered. As long as they get details of this game out to people who usually don't buy games that much, they could have a sleeper hit. Gonna be huge among kids too. I like it lot.
