Instead of using pictures, we decided we'll use words for this one. Geon (formerly known as the game, Geon: Emotions) is making a surprise appearance on PSN very soon. In fact, it's coming tomorrow, according to a post on PS3Trophies.co.uk. "Short notice, but that's the miracle of digital distribution." Geon will be available on the US PSN tomorrow, and next week in Europe.

Unfortunately, we think the game will be buried under the massive hype that's been built up for the other downloadable games releasing tomorrow: Burnout Paradise, WipEout HD and Mega Man 9.

Sorry if old.

Wow, they're really smart to release this port on the same day as WipEout HD, Burnout Paradise and Mega Man 9 instead of launching in a slower week. :lol

and last week was pretty much wide open.

Sent to die. The weeks ahead will probably be barren too.

I hope I'm wrong. What's the next big PSN game? SOCOM in late October maybe?

Did anybody like Geon:Emotions? It sure didn't click with me.

Played it for 2-3 hours and got bored after that. It's not bad, but highly forgettable. Liked the concept, but didn't really like the item system...felt like it got cheap at times

You could whine about their release strategy if you care about their sales performance or you could be grateful that they are putting content up as soon as it's ready instead of stringing you along by parsing it out.

Like I said in the Burnout thread, Sony really needs to implement a PSN release schedule and stagger these games out. Putting everything up the Thursday after it passes QA is not good.

If anything, Geon brings it down. Way down, because someone out there won't know any better and buy Geon over either of the other three games, and that person will learn to hate videogames.

Yea, this does not make tomorrow better, nor would any potential release of Red Baron Arcade. (Rumored to coming out this Thursday as well.)

The point of the Thursday only policy was to create hype amongst PS users.

And I think it has worked. Every week on every board there is a hype thread for what is coming out. It sort of feels like an event every week. Although I would prefer to get content as it becomes available, I can see the weekly event drawing in more users.

3-4 games in the same week and let me bet there will be no new games for like 2 weeks after that.
The magic of digital distribution.

Well, why this Thursday, why not next Thursday, if only to having something available.
