I just came back from doing 4 hours of work. Cool thing is I still get paid 8 hours of holiday pay from my temp agency in addition to that.

I get paid for today wether I go into work or not, so I'd just as well stay home. Sure I get time and a half on top of 8 hours for every hour I could work today but I hate my job.

I had yesterday off with full pay, but back when I was a summer roofer at Boeing (summer 2000 and 2001), I worked Labor Day and got paid at triple time.

$48/hour for eight hours.

Plus, I get paid for around 8 hours on top of that

And the best part is, I had my best staff in so I didn't have to deal with anything big

i got payed time and half too, but I don't really know what that means because i've never worked on a holiday before! Does it mean I get my 8 hours plus the time in a half?

No, you get paid your regular wage plus half of what you make.

If I make 10 bucks an hour then I'll get paid 15 per hour.

When I worked at the grocery store, I was on the night crew... but for big holidays, I always worked 3 pm-midnight on the day BEFORE the holiday, then midnight-8 on the day AFTER the holiday, so I could never get the triple time.

Now I work at the anime store, and I had the day off, as well as being off today and tomorrow. And I don't have to work at night.

At my work people that don't get holiday pay get time and a half, people that DO get holiday pay get holiday pay + normal wages "Double pay". Holiday pay = average time you worked every day for the past few weeks.

Holiday pay = 8 hours.

Worked 10 hours.

I didn't even get double pay. Motherfucker.
