Time Crisis 4 screens

Should be good. Too bad my arcade always charges a dollar a play for new TC games which I am not really willing to pay after the first time.

I really want Crisis Zone 2 and Ghost Squad 2.

same here.

games like tekken. RR, SC, TimeCrises. Ace Combat. are big reason for me why i favor Sony over any other console. because namco put those games on sony console only [ and they will probably lose their "spirit" if they were multi-platform games.

That actually looks quite impressive for the tech, but I'm not interested in picking up light gun titles anymore if they're essentially going to be worthless on HDTVs. I'll have a Rev for similar gameplay anyway.

I've still yet to play Time Crisis 3, not having an HD-capable Guncon option has kept Namco from some easy sales. :(

Stop getting so down on yourself about Lightgun tech.

First off, the Revolution isn't going to be a Godsend for gun games. Think about it. It's not reading the screen. It's reading your arm's position. It won't be as accurate as you masturbate about.
Second, there are a few HDTV guns coming out. The reason there aren't more is because the HD console isn't out yet. I guarantee that Namco will release a Guncon3 that will work on HDTVs.

So quit your whining and wait for the PS3 guns to at least come out first.

yeah that was the problem. When the guncon 2 came out, HDTV's weren't really selling in masses, but its different now.

I know for a fact there were a few LCD sets where the guncon 2 was compatible, but Namco done removed that compatibility list from thier guncon support site.

You can add Vampire Night 2 to that list. If anything, not only was it one of the best light gun games, but a dream Namco/SEGA(Wow Ent.) team-up. Though a VF vs. Tekken title would be the real dream title.

I'm gonna call bullshit on that.

The Rev controller will be more than accurate enough for light-gun games or basically any type of "point and click" functionality (which is basically all a light gun is).

Otherwise FPS titles wouldn't work on it either.

This is much better candidate for a Rev release anyway as I don't think those graphics will really hold serve on the PS3/360 anyway, aside from being playable without needing an accessorie.

it'll be interesting to see how accurate the rev controller actually is, It should be just as accurate I suppose, as long as you can configure it (get the user to aim at the corners of the screen) to get the range of direction correct for the users screen.

Yeah I doubt this ever gets ported to PS3/360 ... I hope Namco will consider it for the Revolution though.

They could upgrade the graphics a bit, I guess, but not have to do a full-on make over.

A nice n' easy launch title for sure.

Technically it looks like shit but the textures and the bluring effects, reflections make it look like fun to play. Dare i say it looks cool.

Looks fugging sweet! I love, love, love Time Crisis, but I'd like Namco to streach out a bit in their light gun games, but when they make TC as good as they do, its a minor quibble.
A current gen Point Blank would be awfully nice though.

And I know this is far from confirmation, but that marketing survey that was floating about some time ago had a bunch of Nintendo's Zapper and Superscope titles on it. And not that I know anything about the technology running either device, but the Superscope required putting a optical reader thingie by the TV, kinda like the RevMote will use, so it seems reasonable to me that the Rev could do light gun stuff with ease.
Or at least I hope so. Even if the Rev achives only middling sales, that's still a large installed base of light gun possible systems out there, and I loves me some light gun shooters.

I think this game will be ported to the PlayStation 2. In the assortiment of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, this game will stand out by awfull graphics. But the gameplay will probably rock, just like the last installments of the games on the PS2.

The Superscope was wireless. That IR Box was just for transmitting button presses and flash-timing. The SuperScope's IR port was the little box right above the lense.

I can't be the only one who thinks it looks like crap on a stick.

The levels are bigger than the ones from TC3, but man, it is very underwhelming.

CRT HD set owners ftw!

It's just you.

Looks pretty sweet, though what's with the screenshot full of flying bugs? When did Time Crisis turn into Metroid Prime? :lol

Anyway, I wish we'd see a return of Richard Miller in the TC series. None of the later heroes have been all that memorable if you ask me.

the visuals are pretty crappy. What happen to the days of arcade games pushing new hardware? Namco needs to get crackin on some nextgen hardware like yesterday.

It probably looks a lot better in motion.

there is some games you can say that about (GRAW, Fight Night?) but i doubt this is one of them. I mean, even if it has the greatest animation in videogame history, the models still look like Lego men.

That can said about any game. Now that a lot of people are on DSL or high speed internet I think video game publishers should think about phasing out screen shots and introducing GIF's. Can't tell shit by screens. And like all PS2 games I bet this looks a lot better in motion.

Anyone else use the cheap method of playing in the arcade? I've used this for almost all light gun games. Instead of using your index finger to pull the trigger, you use other hand's index finger to rapidly fire. Its like a machine gun!

From a technical perspective, the graphics are a letdown, but the game still looks fun. I do miss the days of arcades really pushing the hardware envelope though.

Accuracy > rapid fire :P

Besides, Time Crisis has a machine gun and usually gives you more bullets than you need (unless you use the machine gun the entire time)

p.s. i hold the gun like the dude in my avatar.

His Project Titan game wasn't that good compared to the original. Did you play through the Crisis Missions in Time Crisis II for PS2?
FINAL MISSION
------------------------------
Objective: Defeat Richard Miller, the Ace of VSSE.
It was big suprise to see that for the first time :)

What'd he do? Duck a lot?

Anyways as a huge TC fan I can say this looks nothing but every kind of awesome. And accuracy > rapid fire, burst shots are always better than auto shots. So will Wild Dog be back so we can kill him yet again?

Looks pretty sweet. I'll be curious to see how the multi-screen battle ends up working. Sounds like arrow prompts pop-up on screen and allow you to view either a left or right screen by pointing your gun at them. Adds a feeling of tension, they say. We'll see. Also, what's with that personal speaker thing? Sounds odd.

Was TC3 System 256 as well or was that just 246?

I really enjoyed the previous games, but I was never that great at them. ArcadeStickMonk was addicted to them for a while, though. Owns like 50 Guncon 2s or something.

Time Crisis 4 hitting Japanese arcades
Namco's new Time Crisis to run on new board; beta test starting this weekend.
Namco has announced it is currently developing Time Crisis 4 for arcades. The game is slated to launch in June in Japan, and it will begin beta testing this weekend in Tokyo.

To date, Namco's Time Crisis series have featured light-gun shooting action with the aid of a foot pedal, which can be pushed to avoid enemy shots and to reload ammo. In addition to the traditional system, Time Crisis 4 will feature larger levels, and players will be able to scroll the screen by pointing the gun at arrows located on the sides of the screen.

Time Crisis 4 will also run on Namco's new arcade board, called the System Super 256. The board will support richer graphics, allowing more enemies to be displayed on the screen at once. Time Crisis 4's cabinet also features a speaker dedicated to character voices, which will offer the player tips throughout the game.

WTF? I thought Time Crisis 4 was running on System 258, the board that ran Tekken 5, and System 258 is not really a new board anymore since Tekken 5 came out in 2004.
I've never heard of 'System Super 256'. did Gamespot (and others) make a mistake ?

Was TC3 System 256 as well or was that just 246?

Time Crisis 3 was on System 246, same as Soul Calibur 2 and Tekken 4 and equal to a stock PS2 in performance.

Time Crisis: System Super 22
Time Crisis 2: System 23
Crisis Zone: System Super 23
Time Crisis 3: System 246
