TINFOIL HAT TIME (Nintendo...R*?!)

Very Poor Hoice of Wor
Hear me out. I'm not going to source this, since I'm just basing it off marinating on this fine board over the course of several years. I'll provide the ingredients, and you can toss your own salad.

Last year, R* said GTA VI was launching in 2025. Nintendo...finally responding to NUMEROUS RUMORS, decides they have to announce details on Switch 2.

Switch 2 gets announced, and console pricing and game prices are vague at best. FINALLY, the price of the system is announced, and the standalone price of Mario Kart World is announced at $79. THE INTERNET GOES WILD WITH RAGE, TELLING NINTENDO TO DROP THE PRICE!

The furor dies down, as reports of an assuredly record worldwide launch is imminent.

PLOT TWIST! Long before the price reveal of Switch 2 and Mario Kart World, R* floated out a trial balloon casually mentioning the price of GTA VI might be the first $99 game. It is laughed off by the horde. RIDICULOUS!

WHAT IF Nintendo started the groundwork for "variable pricing" in a clever pact with R* to ease the $99 price point into the realm of possibility like an old man easing himself into a hot bath? $99 doesn't sound too far-fetched now, does it?

Stranger things have happened, but price fixing with the industry isn't in Nintendo's DNA. They've never needed third-party collusion to do what they want.

Remember, Nintendo is the same company that sold a digital game as a limited release. They're a lovably insane company.

Certainly looks like you're tossing your own
PERFECT avi for this. Just -- perfection.

Really? That was one of their first lawsuits.

Looks like I was wrong! Thanks for the info.

Rockstar doesn't need Nintendo to launch GTA6 at $99. Truth be told, it's probably one of the few games that could get away with it. Considering the amount of assumed activites in the game. If they have added more ontop of GTA4 and GTA5, it's going to be crazy. Not sure I'd pay $99 right away, but there would be alot of gamers who would.
