Pilots are the player’s character during the game.
Pilots are highly mobile and can jump, jet jump, wall run, wall jump, slide, and have a large arsenal of weaponry at their disposal.
In multiplayer you play a Pilot of your chosen faction. Increasing your rank with a faction will grant faction-specific unlocks.
As you play you level up your pilot to unlock tacticals, weapons, camos etc.
Tacticals are your Pilot’s special abilities. They also dictate your visual identity in battle.
Grapple - The grapple hook is great for getting to hard to reach places quickly. It can also be used to pull enemies closer.
Pulse Blade - Lethal and deadly, the Pulse Blade also emits a brief sonar pulse that detects enemies.
Holo Pilot - Perfect for the art of deception, the Holo Pilot will mimic its Pilot’s last move.
Cloak - Become nearly invisible. Increased effectiveness versus Titans.
Stim - Provides a Pilot with a boost of speed for a short amount of time. Quickly restores the Pilot’s health while activated.
Phase Shift - Teleport into an alternate dimension for a short period of time.
Amped Wall - Pilot sized particle shield that amps outgoing shots. Destroyable only at its base.
Boosts are special abilities that can only be activated when the Titan meter has reached a certain point. The amount required depends on the boost.
Amped Weapons - Increase effectiveness of all Pilot weapons until death.
Ticks - Create automated drones that seek out enemy units, then self destruct.
Pilot Sentry - Deploy an anti-personnel turret.
Titan Sentry - Deploy an anti-Titan turret.
Map Hack - Reveal all enemy units to your team for a short time.
Battery Back-up - Give yourself a Titan battery.
Radar Jammer - Disable the minimap for all enemies for a short time.
Smart Pistol - Replace your secondary weapon with a Smart Pistol, which locks onto enemies for guaranteed accuracy. Limited ammo.
Phase Rewind - Immediately Phase Shift to where you were a few seconds ago.
Hard Cover - Create a Pilot-sized particle wall that doesn’t amp your shots.
Holo Pilot Nova - Spawn three decoys of yourself that move in different directions.
Dice Roll - Randomly receive any other boost upon activation.
Weapons are as follows:
Every weapon has tons of unlocks, such as sights and mods.Primary:
Assault rifles - R201 Carbine, G2A5, Hemlok BF-R, V-47 Flatline
SMG - CAR, Volt, Alternator, R-97
LMG - L-STAR, Spitfire, X-55 Devotion
Snipers - Kraber-AP, D-2 Double Take, Longbow-DMR
Shotguns - Mastiff, EVA-8
Grenadier - Sidewinder SMR, EM-4 Cold War, R-6P Softball, EPG-1
Secondary:
Anti-Titan - Charge Rifle, MGL Mag Launcher, LG-97 Thunderbolt, Archer
Pistols - RE-45 Auto, Hammond P2016, B3 Wingman, SA-3 Mozambique
Ordnance (Grenade) - Frag Grenade, Firestar, Gravity Star, Electric Smoke, Arc Grenade, Satchel Charges
Weapons themselves can be leveled up as well.
You can choose between male/female pilots. Additionally, you can equip camos for your pilot, weapons, and Titans to suit your personal tastes.

The universe of Titanfall 2 takes place around five years after the events of Titanfall one.
The Militia have actually taken over twenty-five percent of the frontier, they're taking it back, they're taking the freedom back.
In that process the Militia discovered this mysterious planet Typhon and they don't really know what's going on there.
As a player you'll have to face off a lot of mercenary threats, indigenous threats as well as IMC threats.
If you can survive that, maybe you can save the Frontier.
Jack Cooper is an unlisted rifleman who wants to be a pilot.
At first he's getting unofficially trained by his mentor, Captain Lastimosa.
And when Captain Lastimosa meets an untimely fate
He essentially says take the Titan, finish the mission.
A rifleman, the lowest of the militia, being handed the most advanced Titan in the Frontier.
At first BT was written in a way that felt very bossy.
He wasn't always as much of a personality as he is now.
He sees things very literally,
you know almost like a very grown-up toddler.
BT is very carefully built to express,
we didn't want to be eyebrows you know like
really obvious surprise and anger.
We wanted something and just having a
little bit of blinking in there.
His eyes are tracks with you and then
looks at you and emotes quite interestingly.
Focusing a little warmth in his cold robotic-ness
The bond between Jack and BT was one of
those 'aha' moments in development.
That relationship brought to light the size
of interdependence between the two
that previously wasn't there.
Definitely the big tool we lean on the strengthen this bond,
is our conversation system.
This is an interesting way to let the player speak to BT
and respond to the situation... or not if they choose.
You get to engage with him and learn a little bit more about how you
feel about him and how he feels about
you and that evolves over the course of the game,
as the player proves himself to BT.
It's you against the world with BT at your side.

Polygon 7 | 10Titanfall 2 is more measured and intelligent than its predecessor, but just as fluid and kinetic.
Game Informer 9.5 | 10Titanfall 2 has the basics down, but loses much of the focus.
God is a Geek 9.5 | 10Titanfall 2 is that rare game where both its single-player and multiplayer modes are exceptional and highly entertaining in their own ways.
GamesRadar+ 9 | 10Titanfall stands out as an example of how there is still plenty of room for innovation and newness in a crowded genre space. It's superbly executed and incredibly fun to play.
Giant Bomb 5 | 5Intelligent, creative, and never less than thrilling, Titanfall 2 finally realises the series' true potential with verve and polish.
Titanfall 2 goes for feel above all else, and it feels fantastic.
