My 2000 Hyundai Tiburon is paid off finally but its got 90,000 miles on it and climbing (I do at least 80 miles a day). I decided to look into an '05 model. So far I've got the price whittled down to $17.500 from the sticker $19,500 for a V6 GT up from the V4 I own. Its also in the sweet ass Tidal Wave Blue I like.

I almost bought it straight away a month ago but, long story short, the car dealership jerked me around for a month on the cars arrival. They really pissed me off and now I grilled the bastards down to the price I wanted.

I can't decide if I should spend the money though. I'm selling my 2000 to a friend for $3,200 and I figure I'll do $4,000 down. I can't decide if I should though. Or even if maybe I should wait for the '06 models which are out in two months. Or maybe I should just forget the whole thing and drive my car till its dies.

If you wait for the '06 models, you can get that price down even more. But that's a helluva price for it. Although, have you checked the consumer reports on the '05s? I know a few people that had problems with them. It's always good to just go buy a consumer report to be safe.

I would keep a Y2K car for a few more years at least. If you got a good one and it still runs well, stick with it. The 2000 model still looks fine anyway.

People waste too much money on cars IMO.

IF the '06s look the same, then I would wait for them to come out and whittle down the price of the '05 model more. The longer you wait to 2006 the better deal you'll get.

However, since your current car still has relatively low miles and seems to be running good (since your friend is going to buy it) I don't see what rush is to get rid out it. Its not like another 40K miles is gonna make the reasle value that much lower. Plus, I'm sure you'll enjoy not having a car payment for a while.

The only thing I've heard about the current-gen Tiburon is that the moonroof breaks constantly, so either get one without it, or don't ever open it.

if you're going to buy a korean car, you can't ever sell it. it just makes no sense what with the massive depreciation

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
Wait for the improved 2006 G6. It fixes on the issues of the premier G6 and includes a 3.8L V6 that cranks out a hefty 245HP. This time the engine is DOHC, and not a piece of shit push rod that only puts down 200HP at the crank. The current G6 is far too sluggish in terms of performance, but beautiful to look at and be in. The new G6 will cover all three fields equally.

Wait.
