Here is a working MMC-5 draft of optical disk tech, including Blu-ray
http://www.t10.org/ftp/t10/drafts/mmc5/mmc5r01b.pdf
Read pages 97-118 and geek out to all the Blu-ray specs you could ever want or need
Some other pages worth reading:
Page 199:BD-R Psudo Over Write feature (POW)
Page 202:BD Read feature
Page 204:BD Write feature
Page 248
rofile 0040h BD-ROM
Page 249
rofile 0041h BD-R Sequential Recording (SRM) Profile
Page 251
rofile 0042h BD-R Random Recording (RRM) Profile
Page 253
rofile 0043h BD-RE
There is even more stuff like BD read buffer commands, TOC infos and much, much more....you have to comb through the pdf. to find everything...
IMO, it is intresting and significant that although CD and DVD data is also included in this pdf., [which was submitted by the International Committee for Information Technology Standards(INCTIS)] HD-DVD is never mentioned at all, as if it doesnt even exist!!
The INCITS is in no way affiliated with the BRD group, BTW...
