I have to say, this was nice to see. And the bit at the end was pretty fun as well.

6:20 = he does a kickflip
Such a cool dude. That fracture looks pretty bad damn
I've broken my femur clean off as well, 2 pieces (one half pushed off against the outer side of my leg and nearly broke skin, ruptured most of my muscle) had to get a metal rod inserted to get the femur back in place.Ouch. I didn't know about that injury. Of all the bones to break, he breaks a femur. Poor bastard.
I bet you weren't doing too much walking in your sleep after thatI've broken my femur clean off as well, 2 pieces (one half pushed off against the outer side of my leg and nearly broke skin, ruptured most of my muscle) had to get a metal rod inserted to get the femur back in place.
1/10 do not recommend.
Holy crap dude! Is there a cool story at least behind it?I've broken my femur clean off as well, 2 pieces (one half pushed off against the outer side of my leg and nearly broke skin, ruptured most of my muscle) had to get a metal rod inserted to get the femur back in place.

tony hawk is the goat
Not really haha, I developed a cyst inside the bone that weakened it, a football tackle did the rest. I spent a few months in bed and relearning to walk after surgery.Holy crap dude! Is there a cool story at least behind it?
For vert, yes. Not street/freestyle/downhill/etc.Tony hawk was the standard for skateboarding for years.
I wish there were more skateboarders on Gaf. A community thread would be nice. For vert, yes. Not street/freestyle/downhill/etc.
Heck yea. I haven't skated regularly since the 80s, though. When the Tony Hawk game came out, I picked it up again for about a month, but I had other shit going on, so I didn't keep up with it. My kid got a board a couple of years ago, and after a few tries, I managed to succesfully ollie... but it liked to fucking kill me, lol (and it was only 2 or 3 inches high, heh). Getting old sucks.I wish there were more skateboarders on Gaf. A community thread would be nice.

No way. I am a 40-something dad, and I was just telling my parents this weekend I am tempted to build a half-pipe for me (and my kids, if they were interested)... but it just isn't worth the risk to me of breaking something and dealing with having to work like that for a while. What happened to him is LITERALLY my fear, I just got too much going on to risk an injury like that right now.Better than a mate of mine who bought a second-hand half-pipe skate ramp we moved to his house for his boys. First day out there 40-something dad busts out his skateboard and on the first turn proceeds to wreck his left ankle that took 6 weeks to recover. Classic move dad. Also, the Tony Hawk remake is solid and great fun with my kids from time to time.
hes like 54 and just healed from breaking his fermor intwain. id clap. Some old fart flipped a piece of wood
Yay!
