Too good to be true? (laptop inside)

Averatec is a decent brand. Sold lots of them during back to school time at Staples, haven't heard any complaints.

Damn. I didn't know that laptops had such horrible battery life. No wonder my friend always has his plugged in at school.

My fiance uses Averatec, and while she isn't really pushing the limits of computing with it, it's worked well enough for her. I mean, it hasn't given her cancer or exploded yet so that's a plus.

Best battery life I've seen is for the iBook, at 6h it's decent. Anything less than 3 = insta-no-buy from me.

:O

Jeez, that seems like a good deal. I don't blame you for making a thread about it, because my first question would've been "All right, what's wrong with this?"

I've read a few reviews and supposedly it runs pretty hot, the fan is loud and the paint comes off easily. Other than that it's pretty fantastic. Ah well, I guess i'll wait for the iBook to either be upgraded or come down in price, which will hopefully happen soon.

still. a 12" screen. meh

"just gimme tha liiiiiiiiight"

I'm looking for a 12' cause of the portability factor. I don't care if I have a huge cinema, widescreen display when I want to just check my email on campus.
