Too Late for Sequels - Am You Cry?

When I was younger, I always wished they'd made a sequel to Moon Patrol - maybe an isometric one with sweet System 32 graphics. Of course it basically got too late. I felt the same way about Marble Madness (MM2 never really came out) and a few others. But alas, it's way too late.

What classic do you wish had gotten and deserved a sequel?

I thought this was Marble Madness 2: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/marbleblastultra/review.html?sid=6143253

I would have loved a 16-bit Bionic Commando...somehow I don't know if it could be faithfully reproduced in 3D today.

Sam n Max or any old Lucasarts PC adventure game. I can't believe how brilliant their games used to be and how much they suck now.

keeping with my responce in You love this game but you don't know why:

Fantavision.

i know there is much hate and a tech demo, but i always wanted to see a sequel with faster, more intense gameplay, two players, no more "on rails" gameplay, larger stages and more of them.

Wasn't there a Japan-only sequel produced?

Are these stupid catchphrases ever going to die? Anyway, Master of Magic, though it's not really too late to make a sequel. I'm still waiting for the real Star Control III, too.

Princess Tomato in Salad Kingdom - Cutesy characters and pink box art aside, the game blew other similar games out of the water if only in sheer length. And the puzzles actually made sense, unlike many similar games that boiled down to clicking randomly until you could proceed.

i remeber hearing lots of speculation, as well as speculation that the US version was going to have 2 players but i dont remember a sequel actually coming out nor was i able to find one with a quick google search. unfortunately. i beat the entire game at the import store when it came out and i still bought it to take home. by far my most played game during the launch windowand it was competeing with amored core aand tekken tag. :(

EDIT: I stand corrected: Futari no FanrtaVision
all i can get though is that it is versus... well somethign to look into for sure. THANKS! :D

the ending of axelay explicitly promises axelay 2. WHERE'S MY FUCKING AXELAY 2?!?!?!?

actually i'm not that crazy about axelay. the sidescrolling stages are great, the weird mode seveny topdown stages not so much.

Crazy Taxi 4 - Its not that its too late but its sad that Sega fucked up parts 2 and 3, making the series dead. I doubt we'll see a part 4 ever again because of all the half assed cash-in releases that were 2 and 3.

New Parodius - Apparently the team that does those games got shut down. I would have liked to see them make a bunch of Parodius games and port some of them on handhelds.

Skies of Arcadia 2 - Was announced but was canned. A shame because the first one was fucking awesome, despite being formulaic down to the letter. With that being canned and with lukewarm GC sales, with the high cost of game development, I doubt we'll ever see another one again.

Streets of Rage 4 - Rarely has a 3D beat em up game turned out to be any good. I suppose there's a chance of it being on DS or PSP but knowing Sega, this series is probably dead, except for when the first three get put into various collections.

The Ninja Warriors Again (snes)
Alien Soldier (Genesis)
Alundra (PS1) -I refuse to acknowledge that Alundra 2 exists
Parasite Eve (PS1) -Same as above
Car Battler Joe (GBA)
Breakdown (Xbox)

Guwange (Arcade)

Always wanted a sequel to Guardian Legends.. R.I.P Compile :( Doesn't Irem own the rights to the game btw?

Another Turrican would rock as would a sequel to Bitmap Brother's Amiga classic Cadaver.

I may have had more fun with this game than any other. It was so much fun and so deep for its time. I would be happy with a version that didn't have ungodly loading times, the ability to choose more than four colors in graphics creation, and if I wouldn't have to play on my C64 whose disk drive has broken

EVO: The Search For Eden.

Star Ocean 2. A real console sequel with a connected storyline.

Blaster Master. And no, BM2 doesn't count.

Tyrian. All it got was an upgrade from Tyrian v1.1 to Tyrian v2.0. Loads of new levels are great, but not enough. :(

Final Fantasy Tactics. FFTA never existed.

Pokemon Trading Card Game.

Diddy Kong Racing.

Lufia 2. The GBC and GBA games don't count. At all.

Illusion of Gaia got Terranigma.

Cobra Triangle and Herog Zwei are some that I've wanted sequels to, as well. Still, Wasteland is the only one I'd pick if just given one title to have a sequel to. And, no. Fallout 1,2, Tactics don't count. They're inspired by Wasteland...but don't play like it enough to be considered sequels. Hopefully, Fargo and crew at InXile will make the game I've always wanted to see.

I had this for my Apple IIc. It rocked.

Yeah, same. I think this was used for quite a few of EA's retail release adventure titles. The Age of Adventure compilation (with Ali Baba and Herecles) comes to mind.

Starflight for the Genesis. It was kind of a Star Control 2 ripoff, but it was really fun! And the The Immortal for the Genesis. I also wish they'd revive the Ogre Battle series.
