I know there is the thread for what you bought recently, but if you want to list best things of the year. For me:

1. Standing desk
Helps with back discomfort a lot to stand for

2. 4k hdr monitor, tcl 27r23u
Its clear improvement over my old monitor. Hdr is 1400 so it's really punchy.

3. Wireless headphones, audeze maxwell
Much nicer to use with standing desk

4. Creatine
Helps with workouts and adds kilo or two of extra roundness to muscles

5. Magic trackpad
Helps with my wrist issues when used with stylus

1. Kobo Libra Color - got me back into reading
2. Novus 5S - piano
3. Sony wireless ANC headphones - 80€ and almost as good as top of the line for 400€

1. Steam Deck OLED. Best thing I ever bought. The gaming potential is limitless.

2. Samsung Galaxy S9 Tablet. AMOLED screen. So fucking good for my anime / movie watching and surfing the web.

3. Macbook Air M3. It's good, but not something that would make me say it's the next best thing. Screen is good, Mac OS is buggy, but still better than Windows. I bought it for its security benefits.

4. Sony WH-CH720N ANC headphones. What pisses me off is that they require battery when they are on a wire or else they sound like shit.

5. Samsung S25 smartphone. I actually had issues with this one. Some fucking infected app kept turning on my wifi / VPN. I deleted all shitty apps, but still had to factory reset it to have no more problems. Overall, not impressed, it's just a smartphone, but way faster and the battery life sucks. I would have been more happier with cheaper and worse A56 that has stellar battery life.

best things I've gotten this year pretty much all happened after July.

put together a new PC in August and so glad I got it done before yet another wave of price hike in the PC parts market.

tried this sake blind and it turns out really good.

got a used OLED monitor to switch out my old LED one that's the same size. the price for the new one of that same monitor went down not long after, but my used one was still cheaper, so I'm happy with the purchase.

got a new chair from Kickstarter. took like 3 months or so to get it but I'm happy with it since it's very comfortable.

also got a freezer to put in the garage for a decent price.
