In the wake of her sister Anna's traumatic abduction at the hands of Mother Lucia and her twisted cult, Caroline Walker finds herself trapped deep within the walls of a maze-like convent. With the darkness closing in, Caroline is unexpectedly reacquainted with her old friend, the pneumatic nailer, and so begins a desperate struggle to escape the unholy place.

But once free of the convent, the true horror of the secluded Villa Hess reveals itself and Caroline must again call upon her supernatural abilities to travel to the town's mysterious 'Other side' and face the formidable creatures that await within…

The first was a legit survival horror gem. The intro looked so shit that I stopped playing it for like a year. When I gave it another go and really dug in, I found survival horror bliss. Great puzzles, amazing level design, fantastic atmosphere.

The second looks leagues better.

Honestly, these guys could pick up the and be big as resident evil has jumped the shark and lost its way.
I agree, though I am a bit more excited for Echoes of the Living since its more straight forward Resident Evil whereas Tormented Souls is just a bit too heavy and cryptic with its puzzles to me. Still excellent though and am excited for October.

The first one was an alright first attempt but didn't really "wow" me. After playing this game's demo I have high hopes for this one.

Very much looking forward to the release!

The protagonist is so stupid. Who dresses like that? She looks like an anime cosplay.
This was a peeve of mine in the first. Thankfully you can unlock a free outfit pretty early on to replace it that isn't as cringe. I never used the old look again, and I'm one of those people who LOVEs hot protags

For such a fantastically put together game, the one thing that always stuck out like a sore thumb was the protagonist. You can make a protag hot without making her an anime bimbo.

I thought the first one was seriously good, surprisingly so. The protag's default outfit is fucking stupid and totally out of place but thankfully you can immediately switch it. The further you get into it, the more impreasive the game becomes for a small indie effort imo. The puzzles and level design especially are legit.

I loved fixed camera angle. Nothing else captures the same mood, and it just looks so damn good when done right too.

Wait, is this no longer using fixed camera angles..?

EDIT: Ah, yes it still is. The trailer above suggests otherwise.
