Well that didn’t take long.

On the first day that Disney‘s 1928 short Steamboat Willie entered the public domain, a trailer has dropped for a horror comedy film featuring none other than Mickey Mouse as the killer.

The synopsis for the film, called Mickey’s Mouse Trap, reads: “It’s Alex’s 21st birthday, but she’s stuck at the amusement arcade on a late shift so her friends decide to surprise her, but a masked killer dressed as Mickey Mouse decides to play a game of his own with them which she must survive.”

This is such a low effort thing, and probably would have been possible years earlier, aside from the bits with the actual cartoon clips perhaps. This is more of a FNAF rip off than anything else anyway.

I feel dirty just having watched the trailer, those clicks are all they want as they seek a distributor no doubt.

I agree. Although the 80s were full of quick buck artists making horror movies.

Where's the Steamboat Willie porno?
I am actually SHOCKED there isn't a strip club in Orlando or Anaheim with strippers dressed as disney princesses, the adult tie-in seems obvious.

If there IS such a place, please tell me so I can avoid it on the next trip...:p

I don’t know why but I watched this on Peacock so you don’t have to. It’s hilariously bad horrendous production value and acting shot on an iPhone level bad. There are YouTube productions with better production value but it’s sooo bad it’s worth watching once while drunk or high. Mickey has a beard coming out of his mouth in some scenes and it’s inconsistently long.

Aren't these people asking for trouble by keep referring Steamboat Willie as Mickey Mouse?
Late answer but there are plenty of these "horror parodies" made with Disney products without their permission already. You never hear about them though cause Disney just ignores them and deny them any marketing.
