Trying to host a Zelda 4 swords adventure LAN party. Is this all you need?

Wasn't the max for DD LAN 16 players? I could have sworn it was....

You are right. AFAIK, the maximum you could try 8 GCs and MKDD game + 8 TVs + 8 Broadband Adapters + 1 Switch + 16 controllers (2 players per Kart, in one TV set)

That would be the real Kartocalypse...

Could you pull it off with 4 TV's and 4 GCNs? 16 player I mean...

Yup. Supposedly, the MKDD LAN system is flexible enough for 2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 GC systems linked. More than 2 systems require a switch though.

It is really sad Nintendo didn't get the most of the Broadband adapter... :)

Wow, I never would've thought of this. This will be awesome if it works.... I wish my friends knew how awesome 4 swords is, let us know if it does work.

Do this for Four Swords GBA, not FSA. Yes it is possible (4 TVs, 4 GCNs, 4 GBPs, 4 ALttP/FS paks, GBA2GBA Link cables, 4 GBA->GCN link cables, 4 GBAs).

Pretty sure this is how the hadron collider was built...

The proper way to do it.

1 Projector
1 Screen/Wall to project on
1 Wii
1 4 Swords Adventures
4 TVs
4 GCN>GBA cables
4 Gameboy Players
4 Gamecubes
4 Wavebirds

Also works for FF:CC!

This seems like a pretty impractical way to play (though amusing). Since you have to shift from viewing from the main screen to the subscreen (the gameboy screens) often, it seems like it would be pretty annoying to have to look at a different TV rather than just having to look down at your GBA.

It's awesome for FF:CC.

Especially if you decide to co-operate and line up the TVs on a buffet below the projector. All maps available to you at any time!

Besides a few very rare cirumstances you should usually be focused on the main screen while only peeking at the tvs, and vice versa. This goes for both games.

Wow the diagram in the OP is epic. I've been collecting the hardware to play this game for years. Still need some more GBAs before I can give it a try.

I think someone did exactly this a few years ago, but it's freaking impossible to google the blog that posted it.

Had somebody tried playing Mario Kart Double Dash with more than 2 GCs thru LAN?

The most we could get was 2 GC + 2 Broadband Adapters + 2 TV + 8 controllers.

Using either WarpPipe or the other LAN-to-Internet software, I played a 3 system round once. Horribly laggy that way.

This sounds so fucking awesome! Have any of you guys played the game before?

Coming at the dungeon puzzles in four swords adventures fresh with 4 new players is one of the pinnacles of multiplayer gaming. I can't say enough good things about this game. :D

Update

I just got the Horipads, but I have bad news....

My Campus' gaming room has "upgraded". Among the upgrades are all the old TV gone replaced with 8 HDTVs that lag like fuck, and a new rule saying we can no longer bring our own consoles to plug in.

In other words, I don't see a chance of this happening anymore......

:(

The way you used paint to draw that diagram...I thought for sure it was a joke. Pretty funny though.

Sucks that it sounds like you won't be able to do it after all.
