Pull it out of the PC, then it has no power source.

The PC I'm using now has one like that too... just buy a set of rechargable batteries and let it sit and sap juice. They go through a set of AAs like every 10 days.

I do agree it's annoying but short of disconnecting it, there's really nothing you can do.
