TV recommendations for Switch 2?

Humans adapt to all kinds of shitty conditions. Doesn't mean it isn't shit. One of the factors for the whole push for 40fps becoming a thing was OLED users crying.

30fps is shit no matter how you play it.
also seems like all the Switch OLED users are fine with the response time 🤷 people were pissed the Switch 2 doesn't have an OLED screen.

worst case, get a Samsung, those have image interpolation for game mode that "only" get 30ms of input lag... too much for me, but probably fine for many.

I'm ashamed to say I caved and pre-ordered a Switch 2, despite spending most of last week spluttering over the prices. Since I've come into some expendable income, I'd also like to upgrade my TV from my decade-plus old Samsung to something which can handle 4k, 120fps and all the other bells and whistles required for modern gaming - I'm not sure what G-Sync is, for instance, but keep reading it's excellent. I'm a complete ignoramus when it comes to the most reputable brands, though have heard Samsung now likes throwing ads at you at every possible opportunity, which is a concern even if I don't plan to connect the TV to the internet or use any so-called 'Smart' features.

In a perfect world, I'd get the best version of a non-smart gaming TV going, but in lieu of that, if GAF has any recommendations for good brands or specific sets to look for (I'm in the UK, by the way), it would be much appreciated. My budget is around £1k, though would ideally come in a bit under that.
You shoud check to see if the LG C3 is on sale at Amazon UK; it's just dropped in the US to $1200 for the 65 inch.

LG series OLED. You can get some awesome deals on the 2024 generation. And the 2025 models have also very good value. Another feature that many overlook is these TV's have 4 HDMI inputs as well.

You can have my black and white tv that i use for my Series S!

I own both an LG G4 and a Sony Bravia 9. The G4 is the better gaming TV, but the Bravia is the better all rounder especially in a brighter room / ceiling light. I purchased the G4 before the Bravia 9 and would hesitate to spend big bucks on a large OLED again considering what Sony is pulling off.
My sister's boyfriend went through Samsung & then the LG in a month due to people recommending them and he was never fucking happy with them.
He now has the Bravia 9 and the lad was that impressed with it he got BRAVIA Theatre Quad shortly after.
I haven't seen it so I've got no reference to compare, but it just goes to show it depends on what you're looking for.
Ironically he went on about the LG for months, watching reviews and everything before settling for the Samy and then returning that for the LG and then that didn't even last a week before he returned it.
It's been a few months now and I haven't heard a peep so he must finally be happy 🙄
The kicker? The dude only plays RDR2 & COD 😂

I literally just got my LG G5 today for this reason, my first OLED TV, I saw the mini LED tech from Sony and it looks sick, but il pick that up once it's part of everyone's flagship with all the kinks ironed out.

This years G5 has their new "Quadstack" OLED panel, essentially it's exceptionally bright for an OLED in both peak brightness and more importantly colour brightness.

Look at this shit.

The G4 is state of the art, but the difference is clearly enormous.

I have a G2 which is still excellent. I think I'll upgrade in a couple of generations.

Doesn't LG produce the OLED panels for Sony TVs so Bravia basically are LG Tvs with fewer HDMI inputs? I read something like that back when I bought my CX.

And TCL does the same for LG, not all LG's have LG panels.
the actual panel doesn't determine the final result
