Glad Twitter isn't copying reddit.
Reddit is a Chad of anonymous. Survival of the fittest, and home for Science Research purposes.

Other than that, Twitter is slowly becoming the one thing they hated the most.

Cults isolate themselves. So this new option is the Cult maker.
This one just allows idiots to group together, since its very limited with numbers.

protect option allows you to make your messages available only to your followers. That is one is a cultist power, since there is no limit.

I would worry more about that option, instead of this one.

It's limited to 150 people per account.
You need to watch more cult documentaries... 150 is the start, then they choose a big place to commune together and keep brainwashing more people into that place. How do you think scientology started ? A small group of people, a crazy science fiction novel writer and a boat...

That was the time, before the age of information.
You can now create more larger cultist, by simply attracting people who agree with you, thus creating a hivemind.

Someone did that, and managed to make an army from simply delivering his message on a certain app. Cant say the name here, since I would be banned.

Studies made, found that even the smartest people could be brainwashed into a cult. Being smart or dumb has nothing to do with it. Trust me like I said before cults has smarted with far less people...

Humans since down were all about belonging to a group. And one of the key for that, was finding a common ground. Cultist people exploited that, because people from all backgrounds liked their message.
Remember, just because someone is smart, doesnt mean they cant be stupid. Plus you wont know about the danger of these stuff, until its too late, or someone tells you about the danger it poises.

Small group worked in the past, because the communication system was small. With the current age, social media plays a huge part, in executing bigger plans for cultist group. Anonymously media works very well, in carrying out those messages. We have a big evidence here in America.

Sounds counterintuitive.

If someone has 10,000 followers and certain tweets are restricted to replies for only 150 cherry picked people, wouldnt the 9,850 other people get pissed?

Lets see how it shakes out. No doubt there will be laughs at the fallout.

basically its to allow only affirmations on your tweets.

but the only thing im confused about is that they already have this on twitter where the reply button is greyed out and you only see replies from their friends.

This. Twitter is full of narcissistic, attention seeking cat ladies. No way this is used legitimately.

It will help for those plans to monetise tweets in the future (exclusive tweets) but those numbers are wayyyyy too small to be of any real use.

If anything this will be used nefariously for brigading or organising targeted campaigns/mob rushes.

You inadvertently make a good point. People will setup those sugar daddy Patreon tiers for exclusive privilege to reply tweet.

I don't think the bots and dead accounts will care.
