Two Brooklyn men of Middle Eastern descent have been charged with plotting to bomb the bustling Herald Square subway station for jihad, a law enforcement source told the Daily News early today.
The alleged target is just two blocks from Madison Square Garden, where the Republican National Convention gets underway Monday, but investigators said there was no evidence the plot had anything to do with the event.

The unidentified suspects, ages 19 and 21, were arrested in Bay Ridge yesterday, the source said. They allegedly sought help in obtaining explosives from a person who turned out to be an informant for city police and the FBI.

News Channel 4 said authorities described the suspects "as unsophisticated" and stressed the men never got their hands on bomb-making material.

Hey, Ripclawe. Remember in the other thread about the alleged Israeli spy in the DoD how you were complaining that CNN was being biased because they chose to include the quote from the "senior official" about how the spy might have influenced policy?

So how come you aren't complaining about the implications caused by throwing in such gems as "of Middle Eastern descent" and "for jihad?"

It's not about being politically correct, it's about not supporting the terrorists by giving them credibility.

It's like calling someone who considers themselves Pro-Life, "Pro-Life" when they've killed an abortionist. They are murderers and radicals, not "Pro-Life fundamentalists". The fundamental teachings of Pro-Life state that you value life.

The official was speculating. This is pointing out what is factual, they were of middle east descent and they were saying it was for jihad.

The source you posted said that they were charged for that, not that they said that. Like I said earlier, the wording is bizarre.
