Been following him for a long time. Can't wait for the new album. Saw him a couple weeks ago at ACL. Live performance is insane and worth seeing in person. Or more like vibing and dancing in person!

Dang, this is a surprise. He usually waits two years in between album drops.

I do like how he reinvents his approach each time. I guess I'll check this out.
It has been three years since CMIYGL, I wouldn't really count the re-release "Estate Sale" as that was just B-Sides from those sessions.

That first song was sounding smooth, I'm probably getting my hopes up here but I wonder if it could be a double album? There seems to be an emphasis on the difference between the sepia videos and the over saturated exposed ones having different styles.

He’s got a unique style, Yonkers gave him some measure of fame

I'm a fucking walking paradox, no, I'm not
Threesomes with a fucking triceratops, Reptar
Rapping as I'm mocking deaf rock stars
Wearing synthetic wigs made of Anwar's dreadlocks
Bedrock, harder than a motherfucking Flintstone”

Still a good song, in hindsight I think Tyler will go down in rap history as an expressionist, with regrets.

Album is out now and fuck he's not missed again, this is easily the best album to try if you want pure refined Tyler, the production on this is volcanic and there's so many Neptune's style beats going on.

Seven tracks in but this is way more funk/soul/jazz than I expected.

I hate this quite a bit. Flying Lotus turned too funk/soul for my tastes too when he started collaborating with Thundercat.

This album is definitely not for me, lol.

Ok, after listening to it again, here's my take on it. This albums theme is Paranoia & Sex/Emotional Aftermath. The tracks bounce back and forth between his Wolf era style and Flower Boy era style but with the production style of IGOR & CMIYGL, the album starts harsh as it delves further into the paranoia before diverting to Sex and Emotional Aftermath tracks before jumping back to Paranoia again (relating to the sex and aftermath).

We get songs about how he's poly, likes to have different lovers, to a pregnancy scare, to the mental paranoia that he's not ready to be a dad and how he just wants to keep creating, all the way to a song called "Like Him" where it's revealed his mom told him that she pushed away his dad and that's why they're estranged. It's a surprisingly sex positive album and also one about maturity/coming to terms with the choices you want to make.

Balloon is obviously the experimental track, the song itself is about fucking but it's set to such a happy bear it comes across as hilarious.

The long song is just smooth and I liked the transition of the first song fading in giving the idea that it's supposed to loop.

This was a pretty good album and it truly felt like a cohesive work from beginning to end. Hrk69 Hrk69 your behind the scenes video just proves that feeling.

It’s footage like that which makes it important to really see who is an actual artist in this music industry.
