Just went to the website and closed my account. It's not like i'd ever use it again anyway. Not even because of this. They havent made a good game in 15 years and it's nit like that's gonna change.

They have had such a shit time in the last few years that you would almost forgive someone for feeling sorry for them.

And then you see this.

Not only is it the emptiest and stupidest threat I've seen in some time, the idea that they would ever take someone to court over that point and try to argue that with a straight face is very funny.

It also comes hot on the heels of Take2's recent contoversy over Borderlands games displaying the new EULA, so they have had a lesson in what not to do if you want to face public backlash. And yet they did it anyway.

Ubisoft are the architechts of their own demise operating with such efficiency that it seems intentional.

They can write what they want there in their EULA but luckily in the EU you can't sign away your national and EU rights. So, eat shit, Ubisoft.

My guess is, though, that this is for some weird legal reason for their advantage required to have it in there, so they can say, in some twisted and highly potential legal cases, "well, we told them to uninstall our product so it's not our fault that XYZ happened".

I gotta imagine this is somehow related to all the shit they've been facing regarding The Crew for the last few years, like they can say to the courts 'see, we even mandated in our EULA that games we don't support anymore need to be destroyed'.

Isn't it just a badly worded "you must delete the game and any backups thereof" boiler-plate statement?

Because that's not a new bit of (unenforceable) direction...

All the pieces of shit that run this company need to be sent to hell. Period. And to all the people that support this company. I don't know what is wrong with you, I ready don't.
