I was gonna name this topic the 2nd battle of the Civil War...but since the first battle got locked...well...I'll just stick with the yahoo title.

-snip-
VERO BEACH, Fla. - An anti-John Kerry (news - web sites) demonstrator was charged with felony aggravated assault with a gun for allegedly pointing a weapon at the head of a Kerry supporter.
-snip-

So far the battles have been bloodless. We'll see if the 3rd battle ends up that way.

why does it always seem like Republican supporters that do these sort of things?

Their extreme patriotism is little more than a front of bigotry; without consideration and examination of the things they support, they're simply extremists that would do anything for their side. Much like terrorists.

local take:

VERO BEACH — A Vero Beach man charged with pointing a gun at a critic during a political demonstration on Monday was released from jail on his own recognizance Tuesday after police found a loaded pistol in his car.

Vero Beach resident Trevor Pickering, who claimed Michael Garone, 52, pointed a gun at his head, said he thinks anyone who points a gun at another person should stay in jail.

"This might be the craziest thing that has ever happened to me," he said. "I am just happy to be alive. I mean, for something like this to happen in the middle of Indian River Boulevard is unbelievable."

Although Garone admitted to having a gun in his car during the incident, he said it was never on him. "I was holding two political signs — one in each hand — the entire time," Garone said. "I leaned down to pick up a cold bottle of water and saw (another supporter's) sign fly up in the air. I pointed my sign at (Pickering), but I never had a gun."

An 18-year-old supporter of President Bush became so angry that his girlfriend was considering voting for John Kerry and was breaking up with him that he imprisoned her in his home, deputies said.

Soper began pushing and shoving 18-year-old Stacey Silviera Tuesday night when she came to his house to return some of his personal items, deputies said.

"I kill you," he said, according to the arrest report. "You want (to) live to see the election?"

He held her with a screwdriver and a shard from a broken pot while a deputy tried to separate them, said Paul Miller, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The girlfriend broke free and the deputy used a Taser on Soper.

On the other hand, if that guy is falsely accusing the Bush supporter, he's just as bad as a guy that would point a gun at another for their political beliefs... maybe a little better, but they're both still so far out from decent it's just frightening.

That guy above... holy moly... America, better split up now into confeds and yankees. You'll all be much better off.

There are crazies on both sides, though you're still on point.
