Hey guys; my girlfriend's laptop is on it's way out, and she says she wants a new one. All she really uses it for is Microsoft Office (she's a teacher, so she does prepration work on it at home), and occasionally watching BBC iPlayer (but that's not a huge deal).

Neither of us know much about laptops, but since she doesn't need anything too impressive, I'm hoping that won't be a big problem.

She wants one with a 15 inch screen, as that's what she currenty has.

Obvioisly, if it comes with Microsoft Office (Home & Student will suffice) alreasy installed, that would be a big bonus.

I was hoping for something around the £350 mark (less if I need to buy Office separately).

Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I guess any laptop with i3 processor, and 2+GB ram would be enough.
If I were you I would avoid getting an HP laptop (they heat up like ovens), and a Sony laptop (they are good, but overpriced).

Stick with a Samsung or a Toshiba. In terms of longevity, they are some of the best.

It has Intel Celeron, I think it's the worst category at Intel, so don't expect anything big.

What do you mean?

If you mean don't expect anything special, it really doesn't have to be. As long as it can run Office and doesn't crash constantly, it should be fine.

The Celeron may make watching iPlayer a bit of a handful, mind.

EDIT: See if you can find any factory outlet sites, or ebay sellers. Can get a cracking bargain that way.
