"To escape Vanya’s 2019 apocalypse, the team were accidentally scattered across a three year period – starting in 1960 – around Dallas, Texas. Some of the team have used their knowledge and powers to build new lives, believing the others to be long gone.

Five ends up being the one to land last, and realises that the end of the world is near – again! Their time-travelling shenanigans have brought the apocalypse with them as they've disrupted the timeline. "Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse," the official description reads. "All while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins."

I still have to watch the first season but i heard mixed opinions, mostly that it is boring as fuck for the first 3-4 episodes.

i enjoyed my time with it but the books were better
I have the books and i had no idea what the fuck was up in the series(most of the time), hahahaha.
To me they feel completely different, it's like only adapting the ideas from the comics but not sticking to it at all.

I binged the whole season... It was GREAT!

I LOVED how much everyone grew ... And the twist at the end. I loved that!

Allison had the second biggest character growth after Vanya... She looked so much better in this season than the one before. I loved seeing her married to a black man who was like a precursor to Dr. King... And that the show didn't shy away from all the turmoil of that time period. You got to see all sides of everything and it wasn't in an SJW way...

Is that a bad thing, though? Marvel does the same thing with their movies. The core idea is explored without sticking 100% to the comics. The creators should have that freedom. And I loved how it turned out!
