in the history of tv/film, has their honestly been a creepier theme song? oh man, i used to watch this shit when i was about 9 and i couldn't stand it. :lol

The show itself was creepy as hell. Sure I was younger when I use to watch it but it always left me feeling paranoid :lol

seriously. it only aired in australia for about a year but i used to watch it with the lights off at a friends house and i don't think anything else scared me more back then.

Oh man, I just came into the thread just to say that. :lol

That scared the HELL out of me, and creeps me out even now.

Yes. they use to have some really creepy reenactments. And that theme would give me the shivers.

Agreed. Maybe this show is the cause of me being paranoid. Freaky fucking show.

Oh man, One of my favorite shows along with Rescue 911. It also creeped me out a bit but I liked the way they presented the stories.

"Ths unsolved mysteries of...unsolved mysteries."

yeah, i'd refuse to go to bed after the show if i ever watched it. its the only show i ever really actively avoided out of FEAR.

The Haunted Queen Mary one still chills me to this very day.

Maybe you guys can help me out, I cant remember if it was Unsolved Mysteries but there was one show that I still rememeber that freaked me out.

It was something to do with a construction worker renovating/demolishing a building and he had went into the bathroom and saw a young boy staring at him through the mirror in the bathroom.

It was just so freaky and is probably the basis for some of my nightmares involving aliens/people staring at me from mirrors.

Haha, Ah man I hope i dont have one tonight.

For some reason, I used to watch this show even when I was home alone, about 10 years old. It used to freak me the fuck out... but I kept watching it every week.

I was on the Queen Mary a couple months back

totally not haunted, bro

Man, I was always so creeped out and nervous after watching that show. Even right now, sitting here in the dark, thinking about when I was little and watching this, I am weirded out.

For some reason I had a reoccurring dream that the Unsolved theme was playing, and the Home Alone kid was running away from a house in slow motion before it exploded behind him...and he fell across the air onto a brick, thus decapitating him.

I have no idea why. :lol

Same here. sometimes I'd have to change the channel cause the ghost ones would creep me out way too much. :lol

God damn you, GAF. Now I'm going to HAVE to watch a bunch of clips of this show on youtube and spend the rest of the night being creeped the fuck out. I just feel uncomfortable watching it sometimes. I love it. :lol

*locks front door*

:lol God, I'm such a pussy when I watch this. There are no movies or games that scare me, but this show has always made me feel just awkward.

I watched this show so much when I was a kid...and the episodes about alien abductions were definitely very scary for me back then. Every time I hear the theme music now I picture a gray alien with two huge black eyes looking right at me. :o

Scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. I thought about clicking one of those links, but I don't want to loose sleep tonight. <_<

Always scared the shit outta me. After every episode I was dead sure there was some crazed killer waiting outside my bedroom window for me to go to sleep.

I remembered watching that show on Lifetime in the 90's. That always freaked me the fuck out as a kid, but I'd always come back for more. I still watched the reruns up until they took it off the air last year. Man, I'll never forget that theme song. It's a shame that it's not on anymore because they shed light on a lot of cases that America's most wanted didn't cover. Keely Shaye Smith was hot too.

I loved to watch this show i remember one episode where they re-enacted some campers getting upducted and the aliens looked like puddies from the power rangers :lol

I remember one about a kid getting locked in a closet by a brother/friend and disappearing. Creeped me the fuck out and I couldn't go near my bedroom closet for a long time.

Its good to know I wasn't the only kid scared shitless by Unsolved Mysteries.

The worst stories were the unsolved murders. Its a terrible feeling being 10 and feeling like a murderer is watching you.

NI was just listening to the YTMND, and someone walked into my room and asked if I was watching it.

:lol

The episode I can remember most is when some guy was walking down or up the stairs in some ladies house. Creeped me out so bad I was scared of my own staircase. I could see it from my bedroom door. :(

:lol :lol

I don't really find the alien / UFO stories scary. Aliens interest me more then anything.

The ghost stories on Unsolved Mysteries however, are terrifiying.

The "recent update" theme they would use freaked the shit out of me. It would usually come out of nowhere to. That show scared me as a kid and I think it had a lot to do with the theme music.

Wiki says there's rumors of HBO bringing the show back:

According to an Article from Broadcast & Cable, HBO Distribution is planning on bringing back Unsolved Mysteries when the cable channel Lifetime contract expires in 2008. The show would feature a new set, new music, recaps on old cases, as well as new cases, and eventually a new host. [3] Sticking with the eerie theme that Unsolved Mysteries has always had, some rumored names to be the new host included James Earl Jones, Bryant Gumbel, actor Richard Jenkins, and poet Sean Janson. These are only rumors, though; an announcement is expected soon about the actual host-to-be.

They better not get rid of the original theme song.

If they bring UM back, they sure as hell better not change the music. That's part of what made it so creepy and good. The host was great too. Now I'll end up spending all night watching this damn show on YouTube.

I use to watch both those shows all the time as a kid. One episode from Rescue still sticks out in my head, where a kid got a pair scissors stuck into his chest. I don't know why but that was burned into my memory for all these years.

Yeah, after seeing American Gladiators the other day, I was very disappointed that they didnt bring back the classic theme song and instead they used some crappy intense music that is used in every reality contest show. If they bring UM back they better bring that music back. They are probably gonna fuck up Knight Rider, too. They already included a mustang as KITT, thats like a slap in the face to any classic Knight Rider fan(everyone knows that KITT is a Pontiac Trans Am). They probably wont bring back the classic theme song for that either, bastards.

Theres one episode of Rescue 911 that sticks out in my mind as well. A kid was brushing his teeth and running around with the toothbrush in his mouth, he eventually swallowed it and it got stuck. I remember the narrator was like "but if they dont pull it out right, they may permanently damage his vocal chords" and then when they showed the dramatization, the toothbrush was pulled out and it was covered in blood, but the kid was ok.

Silly shows.

The episode that always stuck with me was one about a kid getting his shoe/pants stuck in an escalator. To this day I always take an extra large step to avoid the top/bottom of them. :lol

"Eventually" a new host? Are they gonna prop up Robert Stack's skeleton in front of a camera for the first season?
