I've heard it has obscene loading times. As in a minute to get in game.
I just timed it. It takes about 30 seconds to get to the title screen once you load the game up, and another 30 to load up your game save from there, but in-game load time only occurs when you go to a new area, and takes about 15 seconds. You can also save your game anywhere.
Untold Legends is basically Champions Of Norrath for PSP. The game play is very similar, and the menu/leveling system is EXACTLY the same. It has a different look than Champions, however, since this title isn't based on the Everquest world.
I would say if you enjoy Champions, you will enjoy Untold Legends. Since it is a new game world with new characters to use, it doesn't feel like the rehash that Champions: Return to Arms is.
There are four character classes you can choose from:
-Alchemist (female): Specializes in using arcane scrolls, potions, and can also build golems.
-Knight (male): Specializes in using heavy weapons and armor, dual wield, etc.
-Druid (male): Uses the power of nature to conjure powerful spells.
-Berserker (female): Powerful in shortranged combat. Not quite sure what the difference is between her and the knight just yet. She has a really goofy-looking combat stance IMO.
Once you pick your character, you can then choose from three skin color choices, several hair styles, and three hair color styles, just like in Champions. Also like in Champions, any changes of armor or weapons will show on your character. One thing I already like more than Champions is that you can have a shield and some of the large melee weapons equipped in UL; Champions forced you to use all those types of weapons two-handed.
Need to play more before I can really go more in-depth on the game; seems very fun so far. I do have a minor gripe with the camera system (you have to hold R and then use the d-pad to move it or zoom in/out), but it's not really that big a deal. The game is also a tad too blurry at times, like some other PSP games (such as THUG 2 Remix), but you get used to it pretty quickly. Music also is extremely forgettable and not of the best quality, but this too is a minor gripe in my book.
