Hello,
I fucked up my portable HDD last night (this night) and am currently in the process of recovery - somehow my USB managed to power down during a safe remove and wiped off the root directory and I can no longer access it. The info's real valuable so I'm in the process of recovery.
PROBLEM. Too much data. My current PC can acquire/hold many 90 gigs but then I'm done. Since the drives on the Portable HDD is partitioned, can I safely format the recovered drive..
say Portable = F: + G:
F: recovered on PC HDDs C: + D:
format F:
copy files back to F: to free up space for C: + D:
MAIN POINT: data yet unrecovered on G: is safe
Will the format wipe the partition and make me lose all that data or not?
