Baghdad - A group of US military policemen who held a mud wrestling match between semi-nude female soldiers at a US base in Iraq are to be subject to military discipline, a US military official confirmed on Monday in Baghdad.
The soldiers, many of whom have since returned to the United States, were involved in an apparent drunken party at Camp Bucca military prison in South Iraq in celebration of some of them ending their tour of duty in Iraq, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
Besides the mud wrestling, other alleged infractions of military code (some of which were photographed) included a female soldier showing her breasts to male soldiers and sergeants allowing restricted areas to be used for sex.
The infractions, which involved and were perhaps "coordinated" by high ranking sergeants, represented "a serious breakdown of military discipline", the Daily News quoted a military expert as saying.
