Maybe it's the scan quality (it probably is), but I think the game doesn't look much different at all, maybe even a little worse. Take any screen in town nd it looks stretched to me.
Oh, and the top screen (where it shows Hai-Lan) is flipped. The bridge is on the opposite side. Strange. :/
I'm taking back my previous comment about the FMV though - it looks much better here.

Cause the Voice acting was more often than not fairly painful.
Eh, to each his own. The only voices I thought were painful off the top of my head were Lucian, Loki, Kashell, and Lezard.
So, yeah, I guess since 3 of those characters have a lot of screentime, I guess it's pretty bad. Not Grandia bad, but some always give me a little chuckle.

Whereas, every line Valkyrie has is spot on awesome.
But, replaying the game, I do hope for this they redo some voices for PSP.
EDIT: Besides, you could just turn the voices low and the music up. That'll drown 'em out.

Oh yeah, it definitely needs to let you skip the cutscenes. Or at least speed them up significantly. I love VP, and I've often wanted to replay it, but the thought of sitting through all the yapping again has kept me from doing it. Hopefully they'll have the sense to put that in, since it is for a portable now and all.

Speed up, yes. The black screens with text overlapping did get painfully long.
But really, the only LONG cutscene was recruiting Arngrim and Jelanda. The only other cutscene that compares to it in terms of length is probably
, but that kept me on the edge of my seat.

And the voice acting was fucking atrocious. The worst voice acting I've ever heard in a game. If you don't think so it must be selective memory. Try putting the game in right now and just listen to the first conversations right when she arrives. Jesus Christ on a bike with no wheels - what/who the hell approved that? A plank?

was the archer dude that goes to war and his girlfriend stays waiting for him and the mermaid part with that kid with godawful voice.
and Lezard's voice was awesome he sounded like a nerd and geek which that was what he was

Kashell was awful as well. I sent him up the same chapter I got him.
Loki was pretty bad as well.
But, like you said, Lenneth sounds awesome. I'd say she's up there as one of the best female voiced characters in a video game. Megan Hollingshead's voice fit the character perfectly.

Hopefully this time they won't have to downsample some of the voices.
Barbarossa, Genevieve, Gabriel Celeste and Iseria Queen were pretty scratchy.
