Valve updates Steam's monthly top-releases chart pages

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Today we've launched a refreshed set of charts for highlighting the most popular games (based on revenue) released on Steam each month. Check out the latest chart: April 2025 top releases

With today's update, the charts now include 50 of the most popular releases of each month and also makes it possible to flip through past months... all the way back to the release of Half-Life 2 in November 2004.

Includes a total of 50 games per month
Now automated, so new charts will get released on time

I knew Steam users would recognize quality when they see it.

I like how she is about to be abducted by some demon but he is still single-mindedly focused on getting into her butt.

Ouch, South of Midnight not even making it to the Gold tier and being in the Silver tier mainly with DLC.

Compulsion better get their resumes drafted.

Ubisoft apparently asked Valve to stop posting concurrent user numbers, as it damaged their ability to spin narratives about how popular their games are.

Have you tried reading the thread title and the OP? What does any of this have to do with this thread?

I don't get why having sex games in the charts is controversial. You've got games like Doom and The Last of Us, which are quite gore-y. I can slice someone's throat and rip people in half with a chainsaw. Why are boobs and sex taboo?

Shiiiiiiiiit, I ain't judging. If anything I think Butt Knight needs to take up the entire chart.

Heaven't heard of Butt Knight before. Butt I am ready to Butt in now.

Edit: I have just read that it's not one-hand-playable. So it's useless garbage.

Have you? Ubisoft doesn't like Steam's charts and requested Valve stop producing them. Valve instead improves their charts. Ubisoft in shambles. If this isn't clear enough for you to better contextualise my comment, there's nothing more anyone might offer.

There was an unverified rumor - that has long since been dismissed as likely made up - that stated that Ubisoft wanted Valve to hide information about CCUs of games.

Aside from the fact that you're swallowing made up BS as fact, what has CCUs got to do with monthly revenue ranking charts for released games ?

Link here. Hilarious how gullible some of you are 😆

Yeah I noticed that it sold just about as well as the Missouri DLC for American Truck Simulator. Ouch.

Maybe games like this and Street Racing Syndicate have licenses on perpetuity, unlikely but otherwise doesnt make sense.
Yeah. That's 19 years, so if they are paying for the license, then honestly, big respect to them for keeping it that long.

Probably the same reason why you can post videos of doom here but not porn, or on youtube or everywhere else. Because the average person would rather have those things in dedicated spaces. Not an issue on steam because there is a toggle.

To be fair, Pornhub's infrastructure is very likely far more sophisticated than Youtube's. Which sounds hilarious but, looking upon usage statistics, makes quite a lot of sense. Ironically, I have seen some normal-ass video game Let's Plays uploaded to Pornhub.

Hmm.... when I see the word chart, I don't expect blocks of randomly sorted items.... This is useless.
