Viewtiful Joe Scratch / VJ VFX Battle / Oogami

Scratch looks perfect.
Nice job, Clover.

Hey neo!
Thanks! You're easily the most thanked person on the boards. :lol

I don't understand the need for dual screens in Scratch

You can effect stuff on the top screen by scratching the bottom screen.
It will zoom in to the part you need to scratch and it will effect what happens up top.

Scan 2 shows that off

You get a better view of the enemy that you're fighting so it's easier to dodge, and a larger view to see what's happening around you. What's not to get?

Wow, I can't wait for Viewtiful Joe in October.... The DS lineup will be fairly unimpeachable by the end of this year, though I wonder what's happened to New Super Mario Bros....

Seems kind of pointless though, but this is only based on 1 screen

Ookami looks so awesome that it's hard to believe it's a game...According to my japanese-catalan dictionary the game has to be called ookami and not oogami (not correcting you neo !). Ookami means wolf.

What kinda game is it? An action game?

Yep...Scratch looks really cool.

And, as far as I can tell, the Top Screen is used entirely for a zoomed in view. I'm not sure if you can toggle it on or off with a buttom or something, and otherwise it shows something else, but it seems like they wanted to keep the zoomed in view of the original game while not having to do the zoom-in effects.

The game looks really good, will likely look spectacular in motion. The Fighting game looks interesting, but without four player I don't see there being much in the way of interest.

I'll pick Scratch up if the DS drops in price between now and its launch.

They all look incredible but VJ Scratch easily takes the "holy fucking shit" award.

Thanks neo.

If "split" is the only new ability (which it probably isn't given that the game is called scratch), imagine what they could do with a Scratch sequel on DS:

Touch to:
• 'strike a pose'
• punch/kick a bad guy towards a point in 'slow-mo'
• fire a projectile (like a missile or bullets)

Blow to:
• cool down - ie lava > rock
• put out fire
• lift things from the ground - perhaps even a special vehicle
• blow enemies? Ahem. I dunno.

Drag:
• throw things
• drag Joe / Six Machine to fly?

Speak:
• Henshin a Go Go Baby!

Scratch looks amazing, VFX battle looks good too. I can't see the Okami scan

everyone that can't see the Okami one, on that page you have to click at the bottom where it says "ダウンロード[iup20141.jpg]"

Whoa, VJ looks very cool on the two screens at once.

Goemon, VJ Scratch, Castlevania, etc. DS is becoming a solid system for these more old-school type side scrollers.

Scratch looks awesome. I hope Joe do better on the handhelds then it did on the consoles :(

Okami is probably the best looking game ever!

Wow, all three look amazing. I'm interested to see how all of the VFX powers work in Battle though. Scratch is easily the most stunning out of all of them mainly because it looks gorgeous no matter what screen you look at, and Okami is beautiful as always, now we just need them to release it worldwide.

What system is Okami for? It seems very early on from the scan.
PS2. Why do you say it looks early on? It has been in development for at least a year and a half (announced last April).

Okami is a PS2 title. And at this point, it shouldn't be "early on". It was revealed about a year ago, and who knows how long it's been in development.

ookami looks amazing, but its been in the works for quite awhile. Hopefully they can finish it up sometime soon so Capcom still thinks its viable to bring over. Has there been any impressions/playables on the game since it was revealed?

Clover is pretty much the guys that made RE4 right? Goddamn, they rock.

No, they team who made RE4 is gonna end up at Clover or already has. Meaning the Ookami and VJ teams are different even though the original VJ game was definitely a PS4 game under Kamiya.
