Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

If you have an iOS or android device you can get Cytus for $2, fyi. Less content than what you get for the $12 on Vita, but it's still 44 songs for that $2 I think. Might be worth getting DJ Max and doing that on iOS or android if that's an option for you.

Nope I switched to a Lumia last month. :) Didn't know the game was on other platforms though. Good for them, the PSM port seems pretty solid.

I'm also curious about DJMax though. I just bought Lambda on iOS yesterday and I really like it. I'm worried i'm going to buy DJMax at $45 and then it's going to go on sale the week after or something...

That's my worry as well. AFAIK the game hasn't been discounted yet since its original release. Kinda makes you wonder if a sale is imminent.

Top-of-page recommendation: Hotline Miami is dope. Pink acid neon blood-stained dope. Buy it.

I'm tempted to start a petition to be able to run multiple different-region accounts simultaneously on the Vita. There are so many PSP/PS1 games I want to play from other regions, but can't because of the region restrictions, it's basically region lock. Unlike Nintendo I feel Sony has a bigger chance of listening. Anyone else feel this way?

Did you really expect it to be exclusive? I was surprised it was not already announced for ios/android.
At least it looks it can be interesting.

No, it just seems funny that Capcom would announce a game for only Vita, and then release it much sooner on a different platform. Ouch!

Maybe we'll see a simultaneous localization of both versions either way.

Are there any shops with stock of DJMAX in USA/Canada ?

Official website? http://www.technikatune.com/buy.php#!/~/product/category=0&id=15443293

Well it's capcom... If it's on my black list there's a reason ;)
Anyway if capcom will localize that i will buy it.

Sorry for the double post but imo dragon's dogma quest looks interesting:

what a waste of time and money.

but at least they didn't screwed the artstyle and the universe like Onimusha Soul.

I played a ton of Tokyo Jungle last night.... Still as a pomeranian and went straight BOSS mode. Killing jackals left and right... Then I got merked deep in the Sewer....

The Fine Hunt Kills really help you out x 1000. Just wait until the bite indicator turns red.

I unlocked the Wolf and got merked earlier than when I was a Pom...

The game has motivated me to pick up the bigger brother on PS3. I had it on my radar but now I NEEEED it.. lol

This game deserved trophies on Vita

After playing Cytus Lambda I now realize there's a huge gaping void in my life that can only be filled by awesome touch screen rhythm games.

So here's a question for you guys: should I buy Cytus Lambda for a measly $12 or go for broke and pick up DJMAX Technika Tune for $45? For the premium price am I getting that much better a game? (Trophies aside. And what I like about Cytus Lambda besides the mechanics is the Japanese music. I understand DJMAX is K-Pop right?)

I tried Cytus and I found it pretty meh. It's really just a phone game, no point in playing it on Vita. On the other hand DJMAX Technika Tune has the proper production values you'd expect on a real video game system, and makes use of the rear touchpad so it wouldn't be possible to implement on a crummy phone without losing that part of the experience.

Yes it's expensive but that's the price for having licensed songs with the original videos. Still better than how Konami used to remove all licensed songs from their foreign releases of Bemani games because they were too lazy to get the rights.

I've been playing Cytus Lamba myself while waiting for my copy of DJMax to arrive. Taking a liking to touch-based rhythm games, though I can't fully enjoy Cytus as I can't shake the impression that it's basically a poor-man's DJMax.

If only it was at least just tied to memory cards without the need to constantly reformat the Vita.

Stumbled upon some Invizmals: The Alliance gameplay.

Doesn't seem to need those AR cards. Runs at 60fps.

Just watched the Invizimalz gameplay video. Pretty impressive AR and finally markerless.
I remember a Sony rep teasing some innovative experiences in development for Vita that they don't want to show off to early so it ain't get copied (link). Could they be trying to push AR harder?
They did seem pretty interested in it in the beginning with Reality Fighters, several small PSN games and cool tech demos. One the PS3 side they released Wonderbook next to Eyepet and the Start the Party games. Thanks to Toto we all know how much Andrew House loves his Wonderbook ;)
Maybe we will even see a comeback of Broken.

buy it from amazon? atleast US amazon has it in stock. if they dont ship to you, just have it ship to where your sister is staying on her trip.

He is not me ;)
Yes, I told her to order it from Amazon or the Pentavision homepage to her friends place. Hope it works out.

Chaos echoes my thoughts about this issue. I'm fine with having memory cards account locked, but at least give us the flexibility to change accounts with the hassle of formatting the damn Vita every time. They already have an account system in place like that for the PS3.

Release news from Asia:

We're getting three versions, lol:

Dragon’s Crown (Japanese Version) - 25th July
Dragon’s Crown (English Version) - 6th Aug
Dragon’s Crown (Chinese Version) - Fall 2013

Good reason to buy 'em all.

I'd get Tokyo Jungle in an instant, but I just started Disgaea 3. As a fan of SRPGs, I'm wondering how I missed playing this series for so long... So glad this came out on PS+.

I purchased Tokyo Jungle. Haven't played it yet, but I do own the PS3 version. I'd say the only thing missing is trophies. The game more or less looks the same.

Is the PSM clone of Muramasa Rebirth any good?

if you end up liking 3 1 and 2 are available via the psp.. though I personally find 1 really hard to go back to as it's a lot more of an unfun grind than the others to complete the story (aka it's much easier to power level in 2-4)

just fair warning, expect to lose a lot of your life to the game if you want to 100% it... 25 hours to beat the story, 500+ to 100% unless you use a guide (then still a ton of time)

btw it still might not be a bad idea to get tokyo jungle as it's on a single one week 50% off sale right now.

Just in case someone hasn't heard who's interested: Knights in the Nightmare, Class of Heroes, Crimson Gem Saga and Hexyz Force are $3.50 each on the US PSN Store.

Yeah, I'd be fine with that.

The need for factory reset seems so pointless and arbitrary.

I already have a memory card dedicated to my Japanese account, but haven't switched for a long time now because I don't want to go through the annoying procedure and lose all my system settings (including my 8000 km stats in Near).

Just 2 more months until Killzone Mercenary... if the game is successful, I hope more third party and first party developers follow in creating more FPS's for the Vita.

well Killzone is not a big seller and I doubt it'll bring more people or sell Vitas to get any kind of support to the platform, however good numbers for KZM might encourage Gameloft to bring Modern Combat to it.

To many, Killzone Mercenary is the last chance to bolster FPS support for the device.

Also it's one of the selling points for me getting a Vita on launch date. That, along Uncharted, Resistance, and Bioshock (Where did that go anyway?).

Forget about Bioshock, no way that's ever going to happen. Just like all other stuff that non-Japanese 3rd parties promised prior to the Vita launch.

I was hoping there would be disgaea 4 news this week for Vita, but it does not look like thats happening. Im guessing the announcements Nippon had for this week were the D2 US release, and that battle princess game right?
