Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

When you say a mess, what exactly do you mean?

The Vita version of The Pinball Arcade is by far the worst of all platforms from a visual standpoint. All the tables look like absolute horse shit. The game also quickly becomes a huge memory card hog. Still plays okay though, aside from various bugs which will probably never be fixed.

Is NLKS available via retail in English at least?

Actually having far more fun with Tokyo Jungle Mobile on my Vita than i did with the PS3 version. Much easier to get into, and better suited to the platform I think.

Got up to ~48 years as a Bear before being mauled by fecking Sabre Tooths. Still great fun :) Recommend a pick up.

Woah, spoilers dude. jk.

So I bought Soul Sacrifice and I have no idea what it is. We shall see once it comes in the mail

I only played the demo and loved it. My only advice is to make sure to give mp a whirl., the bame shines there - also look up some beginner tips and advice so you know what ur doing and dont mess up online battles

I went ahead and started Patchwork Heroes which was given for free during the vita 1 year anniversary not too long ago, and I have to say this is such a cool little game. Anyone who missed it on the PSP when it came out should give it a shot. Was it a full priced title when it came out? There is a lot of content in it so I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Looks great on the Vita screen too. I guess it wasn't very popular and probably sold like crap but just thought I'd give it a shout out. Nice pleasant surprise this was.

is it wrong that I don't want to play games because they don't have trophies?

on a side note, i recently bought velocity (Mini) and am loving that game. I really want to buy the HD upgrade for trophies.

what is wrong with me?

I turned down a trade of Black Rock Shooter for my Unit 13 voucher (which I already own) because i didn't have trophies.
also not a fan of Jrpgs, but it decent

It was only 10 on release. Neat game. Got challenging pretty quick though
I didn't have too much trouble up to story level 18-19 but these last 10 levels or so are TOUGH even on normal. $10 was a bargain price for this at launch.

This line made me laugh out loud really hard for some reason.

Sorry for the double post but imo dragon's dogma quest looks interesting:

I don't mind f2p games, i just don't buy things lol, what bugs me are the always connected f2p games.

So is this a card game? This isn't what I expect from a DD Vita game.

I'm aware that the mechanics are different but which music game is better...Hatsune Miku or DJMAX? Hatsune Miku I can get a Region 1 physical copy while DJMAX I'd be buying digital from the US PSN Store. Does Hatsune Miku have DLC that I'd be missing out on by importing?

EDIT: Whoa, just noticed I'm not a junior anymore! :)

Do we have an official release date for Spelunky or are they still just saying July?

Also on a somewhat related note one of my vita's analog sticks now sort of clicks in and out when I press down on it, almost as if it worked as a button like the DS3's sticks do. Still works fine but it's a little annoying. Has this happened to anyone else?

All the tables look like absolute horse shit

Besides the overall engine quality being the lowest, that doesn't apply to many tables with a more old school early 80's & 70's style. ie: Firepower, Central Park, Genie, Gorgar etc There's less objects to render, less colors, a lot less lights... so they're usually sharp, shiny, fast and the colors pop.

Many of the other more complicated tables have actually cycled from looking blurry or sharp as they've patched the game for new tables and fixes. Like most games, small or big, fixing one thing breaks something else. I've seen them do emergency patches for "waterry" physics problems within a day before, but not so much lately.

I wish it had as much parity between the PS3 & Vita versions as Zen 2 does, but I figure Zen isn't facing some of the same problems on Vita when it comes to the fidelity of existing table art & scaleability. I'm hoping they're around long enough to drop a sequel with an improved engine and upgrades of all the current tables.

what a waste of time and money.

but at least they didn't screwed the artstyle and the universe like Onimusha Soul.
Is that what capcom's boss said when he knew that his developers were making a game for vita?

You mean that it's different from nothing?

Maybe you two are forgetting who capcom is. :P

There's a mysterious PSone game for US PSN coming out next week.

I'm having a hard time deciding to get NLKS on sale or not. It's been free on EU PS Plus so the chances it will go free eventually on US Plus are pretty damn high. I really want to play it, but I have plenty of other games I should play first. The game took so long to go on sale though if it doesn't go free on PS Plus it may be an extremely long time before it goes on sale again.

Neither done nor confirmed.

I belive they have rule that if game was on sale it won't go into PSN+ for few months.

It's probably GTA I and/or II.

have $15 of PSN credit and it's burning a hole in my wallet. was going to get guacamelee, but figured it will be free one day and I should have gotten when there was a discount.

was going to get tokyo jungle PSM, but passed for now. thought about silent hill for $7.50 but figured I never play Soul Sacrifice, I probably wouldn't play that either.

It's weird and unnasasary project even by Capcom crazy standard and useless games they publish that no one want (LP3,DmC,RM)

Omega Boost plz

Pinball Heroes looks like ass on Vita. Did San Diego not make the assets above PSP resolution?

SCE San Diego act like Vita Villain right now, the true son of SCEA.

Buy Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure (PSP) it's amazing Action RPG/Puzzles/3D platformer hybrid, fully voiced, like a a cuter Zelda but have the same soul with nice and surprisingly deep combat system, lots of dungeons to explore and beautiful world and characters, and Parin is just funny and awosome.

played quite a bit of Tokyo Jungle Mobile last night. I gotta say even though there isn't a whole lot to the gameplay, it is really addictive. 39 years as rabbits is my best so far.

Nice

I played the alligator last night. 90 years and something like 140,000 points.

So do I do a quick game and unlock the dino's? Nope.... Panda and then a small deer for kicks. The weaker monsters and ones that cant just kill over and over seem to be more fun. After a while it does kinda get a little boring but then suddenly it racks up the difficulty again. Simple but fun for a blast now and then I feel.
