Vitamag is releasing it's final issue of it's physical magazine.

The Vitalounge is still very much alive and the site will continue to exist, but the magazine they put out every month is ending it's run today.

They have put out a special showcasing 100 of the best Vita titles of it's lifetime as their last special.

No word of a lie, I was asked to contribute to this as guest writer and my top 10 and the actual top 10 weren't actually that far apart.

But I was just one of many, many people they asked so... yeah. Go me.

Anyway, great read as always (I actually hadn't seen it until now). I'm hoping Paul will come back and do a special one-off next year, because I am 99% certain multiple games releasing this year would make it in the top 100 (DanganRonpa V3; Tokyo Xanadu; Ys VIII etc.)

This is a great list, even if I don't agree with the ordering on a lot of the games. It's nice to see the breadth of the vita catalog on display. What a great piece of hardware that just was mismanaged completely by Sony.

Well Persona 4 is a enhanced port and Killzone is an original game for the Vita. I love both games so I can't really complain.

What a good reminder of how many great games vita had. I sunk so much time in to KZ mercs bot matches when I had to take the train for a bit. It still kinda amazes me what they pulled off with that hardware.

Because Freedom Wars is a very mediocre game. Its two aspects with lots of potential, the story and the core gameplay, are crushed by extremely poor writing and game design.

Overall, I'm fine with that list. Although... I would have put Gravity Rush lower. After playing the remastered version, my opinion on the Vita version is even lower than before.

Lots of good games there. Personally my Vita is my go to music rhythm game machine, Super Beat Xonic, IA/VT colorful, DJ Max and others are great and have easily justified my purchase. Other than that I've put so much time into Minecraft and Persona 4 Golden.

P4G would be my #1 but X/X-2 would def be in my top 5 for the system. I don't think that being ports makes them any worse as games, and many original Vita games that took advantage of the Vita's 'features' like the touchscreen and rear touch just annoyed me.

Lists are fun because you can debate them forever. Speaking of, this list has a lot of great titles on it, but its missing the following:

-Shovel Knight
-Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
-Mortal Kombat
-Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax

There may be others its missing as well, but all 4 of those are pretty glaring omissions.
