On December 6, 2004, Max Hoberman suggested in an interview at MLGPro.com that Bungie might be willing to remake an original Halo netmap for Halo 2, released as downloadable content - except that there didn't seem to be a consensus about which map to make. Hawaiian Pig (with thanks to XLNC) took the initiative and posted a poll on our (HBO's) forum - but there was no way to stop ballot-stuffing, and a real sense for what the community wanted wasn't coming out. For that reason, we're setting this up here - go ahead and pick your favorite!

not sure if bungie is really paying attention, but it could at least help.

kinda hard to pick just one, especially being that i'd love to play all the pc maps since i've never gotten to before...

i ended up voting for damnation though :)
 
Voted for Hang 'em high without checking the results, and turns out it is in first! :D
For some reason, I always win on that level.
 
to people who have or do play the pc halo, how were the exclusive maps? classics? better then the xbox only ones? timberland and death island look hot!
 
I liked the PC exclusive maps... Death Island was basically Silent Cartographer made into a (somewhat) symmetric multiplayer level. My favorite though was Danger Canyon because it pretty successfully split up vehicle combat and on-foot combat, but both sides needed to be balanced in order to capture the flag.

This man speaks the truth. I could do without Timberland, that was definately my least favorite out of the new PC maps. The new level Ice Fields was pretty cool too. Damn.. what to choose.

EDIT: Went with Death Island, it's in the top four, and want to show some love for that level. Besides, any of the top four I'd be happy with.
 
no hang em high. i mean i LOVED hang em high in halo1 but without the halo1 pistol that map would be boring.

i want sidewinder.
 
I voted for sidewinder. Felt like Halo 2 missed a really big map like that (even though I know there are some). Hang em high comes in close second. CTF on that map is just too fun. :D

And the Halo PC maps are excellent. Danger Canyon, Death Island, Timberland, in that order. Danger Canyon is just too fun @ CTF, an excellently formed map. =)

i think it would be better w/o the halo 1 pistol actually. and assualt would rock
 
Well.. didn't expect Boarding Action to win. Damn, I loved Snipers Boarding Action. Was the only free for all mode I could do very well on.
 
Sidewinder would be ownage, but so would Hang 'Em High. ARRRGH, I just don't know.

I've had Halo 1 for a while but I never played mult. Any maps in the dark or with snow? I want something with any of those two things.

i dunno, assualt would fucking own, crazy king rocked in halo 1, i'm sure territories would rock too. basically, every game type would work great, except maybe classic ctf.

dark = rat race. kind of a crappy map though IMO.

snow = sidewinder. a very large (by halo 1 standards) map. good too, but i dont really think halo 2 needs more giant maps personally
 
Am I the only person that like Prisoner???? I loved that map for small games.

But for bigger games I would pick Sidewinder. I kinda miss that map.
 
I don't think Hang 'Em High is gonna work as well without the old pistol, cuz that's all anybody ever really used in it.

The best was always Damnation. Sweet, sweet Damnation
 
The problem is only one map is going to be remade. Why only one? I would rather they make at least 5 and I wouldnt really care about a graphic upgrade. This sux cause no matter what angle you look at it people are going to get disappointed.

They never limited it to one map, Bungie just felt there wasn't a consensus on the most wanted remakes and this poll is an attempt at achieving a consensus.
 
I voted for Hang 'Em High, but I'd be okay with Sidewinder too. :)

The Halo PC levels ROCK and all of them should have been in Halo 2, especially Death Island.
