Wal-mart has a 27" RCA HDTV for $300, but I can't find any info about it...

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated

The TV looks similar to the picture above, supports HD (although it's vague and may just do 480p or something), has two s-video inputs, at least one set of component inputs, and a DVI-IN. I have seen the TV in person at the store, but can't find any information pertaining to it at RCA's site or elsewhere online. Has anyone checked into or, I dare ask, own one? I actually have what is basically the non-progressive version of this TV, and apart from some geometry issues, it's a good TV. To have a similar one with progressive capabilities at this price seems like a great deal. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Ahh yes, I should actually read posts more often.

Well from my experience Wal-mart will have their own special model numbers from manufacturers sometimes, so that's prolly whats happening here. More than likely its got the same specs as the one above, just different numbers for the wal-mart "exclusive" version.

480p isn't HD, it's simply progressive SD; 720p and up is where high-definition begins.

Yeah, if it only does 480p it's "Enhanced definition" (EDTV). Big important difference there.

There's a 28" 16:9 Sanyo 1080i set at Walmart going for $550. Its' the HT28745. Get that instead. No HDMI/DVI, but it's a CRT so who cares?

Is that a widescreen set? If so, very tempting, even though I refuse to shop at Walmart.

edit: Totally missed the 16:9 in your post. Damn Walmart... if Target had this I'd have no problem buying it, but it's Walmart.

Well, if it wasn't Walmart, it'd be around $700. ;)

You're right, but it's a matter of principle on my part refusing to shop at Walmart.

Target had a widescreen one for around $600 a while back, still not a bad deal.

The TV has an "HDTV" marker on it, but I couldn't get a clear listing of what particular resolutions it supports. I don't know, I'm damn near tempted to just buy the thing, see if it's what I expected, and return it if it's not.
