Extra DVD bundled with movie for higher price

By Susanne Ault 9/26/2005

SEPT. 26 | Wal-Mart shoppers will be able to pick up an exclusive bonus DVD when they buy Star Wars: Episode III--Revenge of the Sith.

The disc features R2-D2’s and C-P30’s “Chronicles of Luke and Anakin Skywalker.” Overall, it includes 60 minutes of Star Wars additional content.

Revenge of the Sith and the bonus DVD will be bundled together side-by-side.

The mass merchant’s Web site is offering the bonus disc-enhanced Revenge of the Sith for $25.48. That’s higher than the regular $15.87-marked Revenge of the Sith title.

It’s unclear if prices will be the same for in-store purchases.

Revenge of the Sith, distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, streets Nov. 1.

This is the latest in a string of exclusive product extras for Wal-Mart. Fox’s Robots (out tomorrow) is paired with an exclusive bonus CD at the mass merchant. Wal-Mart also is selling a bonus Will Smith music DVD tagged to Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s Hitch.

It might be our last "new" material of R2 and C-3PO for a long time... it is probably a documentary explaining how the knew both Anakin and Luke...

Which brings up the question... how does 3PO know about Anakin, he would received his mind-erase at the end of Episode III???

They probably didn't do a "secure erase" and R2 was just able to restore the missing letter of each file. ;)

George Lucas reportedly signed the deal in exchange for a huge box of horrible flannel shirts.

Mommy! I want to ride the roller coaster, but don't want to enter the park!

Not really. I can live without something that I'd probably watch all of once. I made a personal oath to never support Wal-Mart, so I have to stick to it, even if they had something I really wanted.

Liberal, communist, what's the difference? At least that's what my future father-in-law likes to believe.

Not trying to steer this away from a Star Wars discussion, so I'll make an attempt to bring it back on track. I wonder if this has anything to do with those little bits with R2 and 3PO that were played prior to the syndicated televsion run of the films earlier this year.
