I'm impressed with its range of motion kinds of obstacles and balance capabilities

I want a robot that will do my laundry and clean up around the house. This stupid thing doesn't even have arms.

How much longer before robots like this are in the wild? We keep seeing proof of concept but not a ton of use cases.

10-20 years? All the drone action in Ukraine must be accelerating this

I can totally see myself going for a drink in my local pub on one of these as long as I have programmed the route home.

When they clean every nook and cranny spotlessly and go shopping and cook Michelin star meals for me, sure.

So I cant drive it into the kitchen and have someone put a drink or sandwich on a tray for it to balance and bring back to me? pass
It's not a pleasure model? pass
Can I use from long distance to voyeur on others? If not, pass
Can I talk threw the controller for it to speak so I can fuck with people? If not, pass
Can I dress it up as Claptrap and use it for target practice with my nerf guns? Possibly
Will it cost a kidney? pass

Very cool.
The appeal here comes down to the price. Anyone know what they're asking for it?

If this isn't too expensive then it's definitely a step towards walking robots at home.

Edit: their website says US$15K for initial orders. That's still a bit steep for enthusiasts but hopefully the tech will get cheaper. My understanding is that the high performance motors are the main costly component right now. So these motors need to find additional applications in order for economies of scale to kick in.
