Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
Warhammer Skulls, the annual Warhammer video game reveal event, comes out on May 23rd this year.

What do you expect or hope to see you at this event?

I'm hoping the rumored Dark Heresy CRPG supposedly developed by Owlcat gets announced, for one.

A few weeks ago there were some leaked concept arts allegedly from Owlcat's next game (W40K: Dark Heresy) and studio reps implied they're gearing for an announcement of their next project somewhere later this year, so I guess this might be a good opportunity for it, provided that past leak was true

Haha see my edited post above. It's one of the games I'm hoping gets revealed.

There is a chance for it to actually wind up being true. I remember reading one of recent Owlcat AMA's and they usually shot down all of suggested IP's for their projects when people asked if they work on X, Y, Z, but there was one question mentioning other W40K games and that post included Dark Heresy as a suggested project among a few more titles, and Owlcat's response was a bit more murkier with no definitive yes and no, which was a bit odd considering they usually went with multiple variants of "it's an interesting idea, but we're not working on this at the moment"

It's crazy how many Warhammer games there are on Steam. This must be the cheapest notable IP to license. There are some gems in there too.

Total War: Warhammer 3: Yet Another DLC
Dawn of War 4: But this time, it's good.
Mechanicus 2 gameplay
Warhammer Warriors by Koei Tecmo

They should finish Rogue Trader first. Still needs a lot of work.

Boltgun 2

Total War: Warhammer 40K

Another one I'd like to see is Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters sequel.

My only issue with that game is it has Denuvo on Steam.

I was gonna say Rogue Trader just came out in Dec, no way Owlcat has another 40k game to announce. Then I looked and it was Dec 2023. Holy shit time flies lol.

Thats still hauling ass though.

But yeah would love to see that.

Also maybe Horde Mode for SM2.

Dawn of War would be awesome.

More Chaos Gate would be awesome.

Total War 40k would make me cream my pants, but I dont think its coming. It would be too cool.

Guess I need to play Boltgun as well.

Can't imagine they have anything for SM3 yet but if they do ill fuckin take it!

There was a leaked concept art from someone claiming it's from Dark Heresy game developed by Owlcat. Hard to say if its true, but at a similar timeframe someone asked Owlcat on their AMA about Warhammer projects and listed Dark Heresy as a potential project and they were kinda cagey with their response where usually they were very transparent and consistent with debunking potential projects on other IPs whenever they were asked about it

These shows tend to be very mid at best. I'm expectic a handful of new mobile games and updates on known console games but that's it. Most games take too long to develop.

There was notoriously a turning point few years back where Games Workshop went from "We will never license our IP -or just in very limited way and a steep price- otherwise people would abandon our main product, the tabletop"
to
"You know what? Fuck it. Give this license practically to everyone asking for it, something decent may come from it".

All things considered, I'd say that it's working. People are still joking about the fact that everyone and their grandma can make a WH 40K/fantasy game these days, but still, a lot of GOOD games came out of the initiative.

- Space Marine 1 and 2
- Mechanicus
- Chaosgate Daemonhunters
- Rogue Trader
- Total War
- Vermintide
- Darktide
- Battlesector
- Battlefleet Gothic Armada

etc, tc.

The only thing I really care about at this point is hearing a release date for the next Total Warhammer III DLC.

Warhammer games are by different publishers and developers. There's usually multiple PC games coming out every year.

Besides, this is mainly made for Warhammer fans. The current state of Warhammer again is pretty good so I'm excited.

Warriors formula doesn't work for 40K since most of the combat is actually ranged. It would work a lot better in AoS imo.

Would you even say that 40K is possible in Total War? There's no rigid companies moving in formations. Classic RTS like Dawn of War, another one of those would've been sweet though.

It is possible. But It would require Creative Assembly to stop being lazy, as a lot of things would need to be changed and fixed. Personally, I hope they're done with Warhammer.

I'm quite curious what's going to happen 2027? Warhammer 40,000 will be 40 years old so I'm wondering if something special is planbed?

Just go to the old epic scale with titans and regiments and the like. Doesnt have to be low level skirmish 40k.

Yeah but modern (future I suppose) warfare doesn't happen with companies in rectangular formations. Guess you could do blobs of units or something - and don't get me wrong, I'd love a 40k Total War if they can implement it well.

Did enough people buy Rogue Trader that we are getting another strategy game from Owlcat so soon?

Don't get me wrong. I'm all in, just surprised. None of my friends have ever heard of Rogue Trader...

Steam DB has estimates of between 900k - 2m owners so sounds rather good for such a niche game.

A friend I used to play Darktide with told me he'd want to try out Space Marine 2 if there was a big enough sale, do these usually happen during Skulls?
