WARNING- Never order anything from DVDboxoffice.com

Ok, this is the third time I've bitched about this on GAF but i thought i'd make a thread about it just to warn people who are thinking of buying from these bastards.

The reason why I'm so pissed off is that i preordered digital devil saga for PS2 a month before release, and although the whole point of preordering is so that the shop can order in enough copies of an item to ensure you a copy, dvdboxoffice put me on back order. So anyway i sent them an angry email telling them i at least want an estimate of when they will send the game, or i would buy from somewhere else, but they didn't reply. I'd heard this site had terrible communication but I ordered SMT nocturne from them with no problems at all so i thought it'd be ok, i was very wrong. The fact that they didn't reply pissed me off so much, especially since they were wasting time that could have been spent playing the damn game (which i want SO MUCH). So i decided to just cancel and order from another site. Now the only way to cancel an order at dvdboxoffice is to send them an email requesting cancellation, BUT BECAUSE THEY'RE TOO HIGH AND MIGHTY TO CHECK THEIR EMAIL I NEVER GOT A REPLY TO THAT EITHER.

So i spent the last few days in a dillemma, i had no idea whether they would cancel my order some day, or send me the game and charge me for it, but i really didnt fucking want to wait so i just ordered it from videogamesplus.ca and got immediate confirmation that my copy of DDS will arrive in 1-14 days :D

Unfortunately i still have no fucking idea whether or not another copy of DDS will turn up in my mailbox someday and deduct the money from my credit card. ASSHOLES.

First off, why the hell did you not ring the company when email failed to produce any results?

Secondly, if anything goes awry with a DVDBoxoffice order (like a cc expiring), they are pretty poor at rectifying things.

If you only order stuff when it is out and in stock, they rock.

Buy my PSP on March 02 ... and today always nothing, they just send me wipeout pure :/ but how I can play game without PSP

Same thing happened here. I lost it and cancelled my order. Ordered my PSP-system from videogamesplus.ca instead, and they sent it the day after. After two more days I had it in my hands.

Bottom line; dvdboxoffice sucks.

I ordered a ps2 from them with a couple of games.

At first I got 2 games, then I got the component cables, then the memory cards. After 2 weeks I finally got the console to use these items on. I was stupid enough to select express shipping so for all of the seperate items and the cost of that alone was about 40$.

I have bought Pikmin 2, Batman TAS Vol 1, Batman TAS Vol 2, Superman TAS Vol 1, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and Batman Of the Future: Return of the Joker from them and have had no problems at all. Even cancelled an item, and everything went fine.

I'm from the Netherlands, so I have two options: buying import games in store for about €80-90 or order from DVDboxoffice for about €40. So I went for the second option and I don't regret it for one bit. Most of the games came within five days of ordering, with free shipping mind you. I had some problems with my CC-number and had to mail them about it. I got a reply the following day and we had good contact about the problem, everything was solved in a few days.

So to make a long story short: I'm very happy with the way things have been going with DVDboxoffice and have no reason to complain at all.

I haven't used them for a while but ihave never had any problem with them. I have shopped from them since 1999 several times.

and how do you know if its in stock? Unless they've updated their site since I gave up on them. You never had any indication if they had stock or not, so it was a lottery

If you're in the UK, I recommend http://www.importmadness.com/cgi-bin/home.
I've bought from them quite a few times and they have a good service. Last thing I ordered was RE4 about 2 days before US release and it arrived 4 days after it came out. So thats a damn good delivery time.

I think they also ship worldwide. It's a Canadian company.

I've ordered a lot from them with no complaints at all (importing to New Zealand). When I ordered Eternal Darkness tge package arrived with no game in it. I sent them an email about it, then thought to check the weight on the package and found out that the game WAS in there but someone thieved it on the way. So I complained to the courier company and got a semi-refund, then DVD Box Office got back to me saying they'd send me another game! Pretty good of them.

Call up your credit card company and tell them to put a stop payment. You haven't recieved word if your order has gone thru and the company doesn't respond to you. That should get their attention real quick.

fallout: You're getting them confused with DVDBO (the ones who are liars and thieves) surely? I've had no problems ordering back-ordered stuff from VG+ before (most recently Metal Gear Acid).

Why don't you email them and cancel it? I have canceled orders several times and they do it pretty quick(max 1-2 days after you send the e-mail)
I think they have an email addy that is for those reasons. Just put in the order number in the email and they will cancel it.

yeah I had yoshi touch and go sitting on STATUS:PENDING at dvdboxoffice for longer than 8 days at which time I cancelled. It was sitting there in stock they just hadn't gotten around to it. Same happened with my flatmates order of some DVDs, it took him about 4 weeks to get them delivered to NZ. videogamesplus.ca had it in my hands 1 week from order. To New Zealand. Worth the 5 bucks extra for shipping IMO.

Eep, thanks for correcting me there. Somehow, I just saw Canadian and thought DVDSoon for some reason.

Because I live in Australia, it would cost too much and be too much of a hassle.

I don't care anymore though, as long as i get DDS I'm happy. If another copy happens to show up I'll just find someone to sell it to (though I don't know many other people with modded PS2s).

Hmmm, I am also from the Netherlands and I have ordered about 30+ games and 20+ dvd's from these guys with no problems what so ever.
If there was a problem and i did mail them they always replied nice and fast. Delivery times at the moment are 7-8 days and i can live with that for that kind of price.

Holy shit

HOLY SHIT

I can not fucking beleive what just happened...

I finally got that cancellation confirmation a couple of days ago, but i just checked my hotmail and got this message "Subject : Shipping Confirmation"

THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS CHARGED ME AND SENT ME THE FUCKING GAME, *AFTER* THEY TOLD ME THEY CANCELLED THE ORDER

This just takes the fucking cake, and to top it all off, for some reason all my old messages in my hotmail inbox have dissapeared, i don't have the cancellation request anymore...maybe they hacked my email? :lol ......Fuck what do i do now

Hello there,

You should still e-mail them and tell them even though you have lost the e-mail.
Hopefully they will help you but they will most likely tell you to ship it back and then they will refund you including all extra shipping fees that are involved.

Do you normally collect your dvd orders from the local postoffice or do they drop them at your place? If it's at the local postoffice, then just tell them to ship it back, they will do it at the cost of the original sender.

Oh man, this is one of those consumer HORROR STORIES that you usually hear about but wish you never actually encounter! You have my sympathy. >_<

Yeah i just emailed them then, I usually just get my dvd orders in my mailbox so i guess I'll just return to sender or something. I asked them in the email what i should do about it so it should be all good, if they ever decide to reply to me that is :lol
