Was there any good black or black-death metal after the 90s?

Speaking of rap music, along with 2 Live Crew and Geto Boys, then Senator Bob Dole accused Cannibal Corpse of undermining the national character of the United States of America. I'm proud to say Tomb of the Mutilated was my first Cannibal Corpse album and it may be the most perfect album ever created. It starts off simple enough with a barrage of metal power cords that let you know these New York assholes are not fucking around and then a rapid assault of the bass drum that almost sounds like the drummer discovered the kick pedal in his kit or the very first time. But then the magic happens at the 18 second mark, a bass noodle interlude that sounds a lot like what Les Claypool would play had he just woken up from sleeping on his hands, fingers still numb and finally we are greeted by the voice of an angel singing every word and vowel as they inhale. Who cares what comes after that point? The metal gods just bestowed upon our unworthy ears the pinnacle of metal.

My best friend thought he was hardcore because he liked Slayer and on that day and every day after witnessing these metal Gods, I could call his tame ass a pussy. John, you are a fucking pussy!

Bob Dole wasn't alone in his response to Cannibal Corpse, it was a shared sentiment with most of the country. Bands formed as a response to the destructive force that was Tomb of Mutilated and quickly popularized behind that movement that Bob Dole and like minded evangelicals championed. Now you are probably thinking that came in the form of a band like DC Talk and if that was your answer, I'd laugh at you. DC Talk were talented. I'm talking about one of the worst things that Florida ever produced, Scott Strapp and Creed. My Own Prison sold 6,000,000 copies in the United States. That's three times any many sales as Cannibal Corpse's entire 14 album discography and really just shows the hypocrisy of our once great nation. I ask you, what is more Satanic than this music video?

Just look at all the weird camera zooms.

Why do you guys keep talking about Cannibal Corpse in here? They have nothing to do with Black Metal, they're a Death Metal band, he said black-death up there, too but they aren't even that. They're 100% Death Metal, sometimes brutal Death Metal depending on the album. Not to be a genre Nazi it's just some weird shit, yo... also... here's some more reccs for the OP...

Who can fucking keep track of all the metal genres? Do I look like a Rocket Scientist? I just want to slow burn my buddy John and Scott Strapp.

I know it's considered more of a prog direction than black metal itself, but anything Ihsahn (the mind of Emperor) does is top notch.

I'm also fond of the new Behemoth stuff.

I honesty can't discern metal subgenres. I did own that CC album. I hate Scott Strapp.
The different metal music have distinct sound but I get it. It is kinda like EDM to some people. Dubstep, house, and trance all sound different but to some people it all sounds the same.

That's an apt comparison. I checked out on the metal sub-genres after thrash and the new wave of British heavy metal.

Why does every Black metal band posted in this thread have a name that sounds like what a Norwegian man screams as he falls down the stairs.

Remember when these cunts said they were from China?

EDIT: Also these

I don't listen to it as much but the last couple years black metal was my main genre. I recommend:

Mgla (album: Exercises in Futility)
Batushka's first album
Gorgoroth (album: Ad Ominpotens Aeternum Diabolos, yes I wrote that from memory) - black-death
Mayhem's last 2 albums, with Esoteric Warfare being the better, more interesting one

And there are other good ones but I'd start there. There's Behemoth too. You may also like Portal. They're Australian.

Now allow me to pray for your immortal soul.

Lol Ghost Bath were chill. The vocals especially got me. That dude's high pitched wail was so friggin' based

Shame purists seem to want to out bands like these and Deafheaven for being "poser" black metal. Nerds have way too much time on their hands... and I'm a GAF regular

May I present the greatest death metal band of all time:

...they were. Just accept it, cunts.

Lyrics about surgical procedures, corpses, and pathology.... including one about eating exhumed bodies, and another about trying to put eviscerated cadavers back together like a fucking jigsaw. Oh, and then there’s using burnt human ashes as fertiliser for your garden vegetables.

NEVER BEATEN.

Saw them five times. Got drunk with them once.

Good times.

...and to answer Cunth Cunth s question: NOPE.

Absolutely blasphemy.

Death metal has been awesome lately.

From Revocation

to Black Curse

to Blood Incantation

Seems really short sighted to pretend that metal has remained stagnant since the 90s. If anything, it might even be better than ever.
