MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN THIS SHOW ROCKS

It's such a WEIRD fucking fantastic show. Kind of feels like what it would be if you'd make a sci-fi show about androids vs. atheists vs. religious cultists (+theres also some weird and fucked up shit happening on the Planet they are stranded on) and let HIDEO KOJIMA direct it, literally.
It's actually directed by RIDLEY SCOTT

If you don't know what to watch then THIS is a must.

How does it stack up as sci-fi? The acting quality and the cinematography are easy to determine from trailers, but I wanna know if this is nuSciFi that focuses on feelies and destiny, or old-school sci fi that is more grounded.

Big nope from me ......not that this looks like its bad that I wouldn’t watch it but I’m not going to add another subscription based service that I wouldn’t watch most of the time like Disney+ and others already out.
Its becoming way to fragmented and costly to keep up with everything .

Well it's certainly not good enough to deserve two threads, but it's entertaining in its own weird, slow, slightly silly way, especially since there's not much else to watch right now.

I wanted to get into it the first 3 epizodes but after the 4th I decided to call it quits. Its nothing special and in todays scene where there are so many shows that you can binge in 2 days, this felt like a chore to watch, expecting its going to be better. Its interesting but I dont want to waste my time anymore on it.

I"ve had to push myself to keep watching, mostly because of the sunken cost fallacy to be honest. What seemed like an interesting premise is just meh

Why?

It fell HARD after those initial eps.

Everything started feeling like it was taking place 100 feet from each other, the motivations of characters to do anything became murky at best, and there is ZERO payoff for ANYTHING. The entire season is JJ Abrams style mystery box nonsense. So either wait for S2 to (maybe) resolve something or just skip this show entirely if that thing bothers you.

I had finally forgotten Campion and his stupid Android mother yelling his name. What a dumb name.

Anyway watch this last year and it had some promise. A little bit off the rails at the end which started to give me prometheus vibes which isn't a compliment. I'll watch a second season cause of the ending and the pretty good sci fi concepts.

If you're on the fence I say watch it
