...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
I just came back from watching it, and just as I expected, it was a riot. A comedy movie that doesn't give away its funniest moments in the trailer. Hell, the trailer doesn't even give away .1% of the movie's funniest moments. The entire movie theater was in a frenzy, this is by far the funniest film of the year. Vince Vaughn was definitely the funnier of the two, but Owen Wilson still held his own. Will Ferrell's cameo was just too much -- it wrapped up the entire package perfectly. I couldn't stop laughing, my friend couldn't stop laughing and neither could the theater.

I've been wondering how people would react to this movie.

I'd say the movie's highlight is watching
Vince Vaughn twisting in the wind. He's created a character or personality that we enjoy watching suffer, without disliking.

I don't want to argue with anyone right now......I'll just state my opinion... I saw a showing last night @ 10:30......I hated it. We all hated it. Some parts were funny, those parts were in the trailer. Wayyyyy too much lovey dovey bullshit. I know there's a rule whereby every studio comedy has to have a love subplot, but this took itself way too seriously at times. We kept waiting for the punchline in many scenes, but it never came. The editing was sloppy, the opening montage was way too long...ugh. I REALLY wanted to like the movie, as I'm a huge VV fan, but it just didn't deliver. If you see it and enjoy it, I'm happy for you.

Do you see the red headed chick naked? Isla Fisher? Cause that could soften the blow of hating the movie somewhat, atleast in my mind it would :P

No. Her fiance, Sacha Baron Cohen (aka Ali G), apparently 'banned' her from appearing nude in the movie.

That's weird....unless they used a body double, I could have sworn there's a shot of her tits in one scene. It's from the side and it's dark (I was taking notes ;) ) but I think it's in there.

Thats just wrong :(

You see her tits from the side. Could've been a body double, but I don't care. And damn, Ali G is hittin' that? Good for him.

Now as far Fifty is concerned: You took this movie way too seriously. I have no idea what you're talking about with 'waiting for the punchlines'; this entire movie was punchline after punchline after punchline. Even during the lovey parts there was something funny interfering it. This movie sure as hell did not take itself seriously at all.

I wouldn't call this a punchline type of a movie. There's actually tons of jokes and quickies folded into normal converation.

For example, there's a blink-and-you-miss it quit where Owen Wilson offhandedly calls Vincent Vaughn "Count Chocula" or some other name like that. The whole movie is full of stuff like that, which I found to really build character, create a world and really tap into the feeling of comedies I used to love, like Stripes.

As far as the love story goes, I actually like that in movies. There's nothing that bores me more than comedies with a story that's just thrown in or half-assedly approached. Anchorman and Old School, while really funny, are really weak in the story department.

To me, movies like Raising Arizona are the high-water mark of comedy, in that they perfectly meld tons of jokes, with an engaging, believable and thought out plot.

I'm not saying that Wedding Crashers manages this, but I appreciate the effort and like it better as a consequence of it's story.

I love... lamp?

I love lamp.

Chech the unrated version of Anchorman... you see Kelly's tits from the side, hanging out of an apron. I did a double-take to make sure of it.

As far as this movie goes, I haven't seen it yet but I hear good tings, and uh, ya knows how dat goes, eh? EY! Gotta go see it!

Isn't there a Jane Seymour topless scene? She's not half bad looking for her age.

Yes, she asks Owen Wilson to grab her tits

Awesome movie, especially Vince Vaughn who gets fucked UP big time in this one....

The hardest I've laughed in a movie theater since Old School. A classic. Vince Vaughn is the best comedic actor in Hollywood today. Wow.

Really funny movie that just keeps on getting better and better as it continues.

The whole
cameo with Will Ferrell and the whole funeral crashing just topped everything in the end !

you have no idea how badly I want a copy of that christopher walken "Our next president?" magazine cover.

This movie was really funny. I enjoyed the hell out of it. It's the new Dodgeball (and funnier than Dodgeball). I'm so glad they didn't wimp out and make it PG-13. The R rated stuff is awesome.

I haven't laughed that hard at a movie in years.

The dinner table scene gave me a migraine from laughing so hard. Between Vince getting jacked-off, the grandma going off on Elanor Roosevelt being a dyke, and the gay son I couldn't breathe. And then they follow it up with the bedroom scene.

And VV is the f'in man.

Is the film awkwardly raunchy? Or more of the same compared to what we've seen? Just wondering because I was going to bring my fiancee and her brother to see it tonight.

It's definitely not the typical cliches you've seen before in a comedy. The dialogue is fucking fantastic. Vince Vaugh delivers on every punch. And Will Ferrell...hahaha, oh God...the laughter just didn't stop.

After enough people see this, there should be a thread - Old School vs. Wedding Crashers.

For the love of God this should never happen. It's like pitting Mother Theresa vs. Rosa Parks.

And as an ode to my favorite throwaway line in the movie:

Separated at birth?

Just got back from seeing it and holy shit is the movie funny as hell. I have not laugh so hard since Bad Santa. I am so glad they did not puss out and make it pg-13 the rated r stuff made the movie. I almost pissed my self laughing during the bedroom and dinner scenes. VV is the fucking man god damn he is a comedic god. Who ever that red head is she is freaking hot as hell.

Finally got to see the preview to 40 year old virgin it looks pretty damn funny.

Saw it tonight with a couple of friends, and loved it. Vince Vaughn was just amazing. He is the type of guy you would love to just sit down and have a couple of drinks with.

And everybody in the theater clapped when he punched that douchebag out. People also clapped when Will Ferrel popped up. It was so much fun.

I just had a great time seeing this movie, easily the funniest film I've seen this year. And everyone I was with liked it, as well as the people walking out of the theater. This movie is going to have a lot of word of mouth pushing it.

I agree everyone at the theater I was at were having a great time. I can't wait to see it on DVD because the laughter was so loud I missed a few lines. This is easily the funniest movie of the year and just a fun time. This was the funnest time I had at a theater since a sneak peak of jay and silent bob.

He is! I live in Los Feliz, the neighborhood where Swingers was shot. Vaughn still hangs around here and is always cool and friendly (the life of the party) when spotted in local bars like The Dresden.

His behavior in the wedding montage at the beginning of the movie isn't really acting -- that what he's like the many times I've seen him in public.

Saw it last night -- absolutely hilarious. Owen and VV are friggin' great. So many moments...

The dinner scene, Jane Seymour's bedroom scene), Will Ferrell (especially the funeral crashing :lol :lol), and Count Chocula. And how badass is Christopher Walken? I'd vote for him.

Also, Rachel McAdams is so damn cute in this.

Add me into "Wedding Crashers is fucking awesome!" club. Saw it last night with a relatively full theater. Had the entire theater rolling in laughter the entire way. Like the original poster stated, the trailers don't even come close to the amount of content in this flick. Even some cameos not even shown in the trailers! There is a halway decent story behind the comedy. Oh, the comedy. So damn funny. I'm not going to ruin anything but this is the funniest movie I've seen in years! A true comedic classic! The whole theater was buzzing after the movie was over. I don't normally see movies twice in the theater but I'm seeing Wedding Crashers again! I'll also be buying the DVD on day one! :D

Wedding Crashers is also the first movie where I could tolerate Owen Wilson!

Holy FUCK this was an awesome movie. I saw this AND Wonka back-to-back. What a sweet night.

The only thing i'm afraid of is that the movie might've benefited from the thearer experience and might not be as funny on DVD. That being said, the movie is still the funniest comedy this year EASY.

Am I the only one who'd FHUTA Jane Seymour?

I popped a boner when that red headed chick was jacking off Vince Vaugh. That shit was HAWT!

I wasn't impressed. Disappointingly, Owen Wilson fell almost entirely flat here (not even any chances for him to run around shirtless like in the Big Bounce), so Vaughn completely carries the movie, and even then only managed something genuinely funny about half of the time. Most, if not all, of the Vaughn-less jokes had me struggling to get out a weak chuckle. This kind of thing has it's audience, but in my eyes it's just extremely by-the-book doofus comedy with a painfully predictable romance sub-plot and cookie-cutter characters.

There's nothing new or even remotely fresh about it (people were seriously surprised to see
Will Ferrell
show up at the end?) and frankly, I had hoped for more use out of the R rating. There's just a bunch of random "fuck"s scattered throughout and a few mildly risqué sex jokes. Even the nudity is almost entirely obscured, contrary to what was being touted in early write-ups.

I guess this still qualifies as one of the funnier comedies this year, as sad as that is, simply because it's been an absolultly shit seven months for movies.

Oh, and Rachel McAdams is friggin' hideous.

Mega. Fucking. Rolleyes.

God damn the fuckers who kept calling their peeps n homies on the cell phone sitting next to me tellin' em how fly all da bitches looked in the movie.

Really. Get a fucking education and learn some manners.

My experience with Wedding Crashers wasn't the best due to certain fellow moviewatchers. It was a hilarious movie and worth seeing twice. ;)

Caught this film last night in a small more intimate theatre (60-75 seater). Up-roaringly hilarious experience.. I only heard about 75% of the jokes because of the atmosphere. Best comedy in years.

I don't know what it is about Owen Wilson.. but I've always liked him. Is it his layed back style? The distinct nose? Seriously, he has a presence.. you either hate him or love him. Honestly though, this was really an expose for Vince. Amazing comedic performance.

Saw this on a whim since we had heard good things. I really didn't expect it to be so great. I laughed constantly (the theatre was pretty empty/quiet, which I prefer) and the story was actually framed really well; didn't feel tacked on at all. Rachel McAdams is gorgeous and terribly cute, so that didn't hurt.

Vince Vaughn was fantastic. He played the character perfectly. I'd see it again just for him.

Owen Wilson, also great.... but he was the (relatively) straight man. He only had so many laughs, but him and Vaughn played off each other really well.

Great movie, all around!

*shudders* I genuinely feel sorry for you.

I'm starting to think I should see this again.....this time not right after the Jays lost a game badly to the Devil Rays. I think that might have soured my mood and put me on edge. ;p

The Jays losing sours your mood? Don't they play almost every day? And lose every other? Poor guy. ;)

Yes, see it again. I'm surprised you didn't enjoy it.

I just came back from seeing this movie. Holy SHIT was it funny. :lol

The best scenes were
The dinner table scene and the following bedroom scenes with Vince, by far. :lol

and Isla Fisher? I want to FHUTA. A lot. Jesus CHRIST is she hot.
