Box Office Report Forecast (http://www.boxofficereport.com/wbon/forecast.shtml)

1. The Village ($64 Million)
2. The Manchurian Candidate ($26 Million)
3. The Bourne Supremacy ($24 Million)
4. Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle ($14 Million)
5. I, Robot ($9.5 Million)

Considering the amount of theatres that The Village is launching in, even the high 64 number is low.

The lowest opening weekend total for a movie opening at more than 3600 is Mission Impossible 2, and the more recent ones in the same areas as The Village have been opening above 70.

Considering the negative buzz around the village, it definitely won't be surprising to see a huge dropoff next weekend...right now, the MetaCritic rating is govering at about a 39...whereas each of his first three films was at 62. Obviously, he has the ire of critics with this one, and apparently many moviegoers as well.

I'll update this with Friday Numbers when they come in later this afternoon, to see what its pace is...and while not a close race, seeing how The Village performs will see just how much critics matter.

How much was the budget for the film? It seems like it would be low..
For The Village? Box Office Mojo estimates it at around $70 million, plus marketing expenses.
