I always watch this movie on Halloween, it's one of my absolute favorites.

That iconic opening with Drew Barrymore. Ghostface. The Script.

Wes and Kevin Williamson changed the game, when horror was considered dead.

Sucks that Wes isn't here to celebrate.

Rest in Peace Wes. :(

The movie also introduced me to Moby.

Amazing closing song.

Fantastic film and one of Wes Craven's best. It's right up there with Elm Street and New Nightmare.

I saw this in theaters on opening day. I'm an old man.

I remember thinking "This Skeet Ulrich is going to be a big star!"

still one of the best intro sequences in any movie...ever.

Fantastic movie but i will always remember it as the movie where i almost had a heart attack thanks to my dad banging on my window right next to me the second ghost face turns around and smashes through the window in the beginning of the film.

Just thinking about that right now is giving me anxiety. I know people don't like the sequels (especially the third and fourth) but i love them all.

I still remember seeing this opening night, I know it's impact has been dulled by scary movie etc, but that opening 10 mins threw people for a loop and that mask was horrific on first sight. And the film kept the entire audience on their toes for the entire running time.

I was actually scared walking home that night. Only a handful of films have haunted me for days after viewing this was one of them.

Love that movie man. When they revealed who the killers were I was legit shook. Just because I didn't expect there to be two of them.

They really tricked everyone into thinking Drew was going to have a major role.
I like when movies and TV shows do that.

The TV show The Shield
does it with actor Reed Diamond aka Terry in the pilot i thought he was going to be the main guy next to Chiklis in that show and when Vic shoots him at the end of the pilot i was like WHAT?
Normally i wouldn't spoiler tag something from 14 years ago but it's a show i think everyone should watch and i don't want to spoil it for anyone.

The Friday the 13th of the 90s. No other slasher film has come close to touching it since its release. I wrote a paper on it and other influential horror films back in college.

Also, best horror film surprise death since Psycho.

I was stunned when that happened.

I'd compare it more to Halloween than Friday the 13th. Scream is a smart movie.

True. That was just more in reference to how many sequels, spinoffs, and copycats tried to do the same thing and failed. Although F13 was created because they wanted to copy the success of Halloween.

Perfect blend of horror and humor. Such a great pop-corn flick. Just plain fun. Some of the things to appreciate about it:

-Really smart and innovative for it's time.
-Great cast.
-Iconic nemesis look
-Awesome starting scene. Hooks you right from the start.
-Violence never goes overboard.
-Nice ending twist.

One of my favorite movies.

Saw this series for the first time when the third one came out which was when I was about ten, and save to say it scared me good. I knew I was too young, but curiosity killed the cat and couldn't sleep for a couple of days. Looking back they're great films and the opening is still one of the best ever filmed. I also absolutely love the fourth one, despite everyone seems to forget that this film happened and had quite the hype from what I've noticed between me and many friends.

Still rather disappointed that the fifth film never happened despite them being really clear that they wanted to do it. Though that would've meant the death of either Gale or Dewey, which is not cool in my books.

Pretty sure this was the first R rated movie I saw in a movie theater.

My friends and I enjoyed it so much we would watch it over and over and come up with trivia questions to ask each other.

This reminded me of these things:

A. I'm old as dirt
B. Courtney Cox needs to seriously lay off the plastic surgery
C. Rose McGowan is hot

Apparently Quentin Tarantino turned down the script, would have loved to seen his adaption.

Movie is downright significant just in terms of the amount of shit it was responsible for creating in its wake.

man, what a great film. that beginning scene is still one of the best scenes from any horror movie. just great stuff. I personally consider this movie one of the greats.

I also love how it goes further down the rabbit hole with some of the stuff wes was messing around with in New Nightmare but also not being tied down to an existing franchise, though I love New Nightmare.

also also love how the Scream series as a whole never shied away from having shit go down during the day when it's sunny out.

One of my favorites. So fun.

That twist totally got me, too. Has a whodunnit slasher ever done that with the killer's identity before?

My favorite horror film of all time. Absolutely magical from the first frame to the last frame.

The first time I watched it I was screaming from joy from start to finish. Literally EVERYTHING was perfect, ESPECIALLY the intro which is my favorite intro of all time. The kinda stuff that makes me happy to be alive :3

Scream is partly responsible for the wave of shitty late nineties teen movies but hell, it was worth it!

Also, I had the biggest celebrity crush on Neve Campbell as a teenager.

Courney Cox isn't the only one that needs to lay off.

She had facial reconstructive surgery after a major car accident.

It's really a good flick but you have to watch it with a sense of time perspective, since way to many movies tried to copycat it afterwords. Not sure how I feel about Scream sequels, been a long while since I watched them.

Scream 2 is fantastic.

I hate Scream 3.

Scream 4 is good.
