I'm trying to make a mix cd and I want to, uh, "sample" some of the best out right now. I've already got these:

Petey Pablo - Vibrate
LL Cool J feat. Timbaland - Head Sprung
Fat Joe feat Various - Lean Back remix
Youngbuck - Let Me In

and some assorted others; I just posted those to show what type of songs I'm looking for. This is more of a club banger type CD, for casual outings and driving around with. I am, however, open minded to suggestion. So post away, Hip Hop GAFers!

IMO, the soul of mainstream Hip Hop died with TuPac.

You used to be able to listen to the music and get a deep profound message, but those days are gone. Sure, the stuff they play today on the radio and MTV can be catchy sometimes, but gone is the message; it's a hollow soul.

You would probably be better off listening to underground stuff.

Well, he said he wanted some club banger stuff. I have a CD like that too. For chicks, the homies whatever. Nothing wrong with that. I listen to underground stuff too, but can't say all mainstream stuff is garbage.

Hey, it's not like this is all I listen to. I just wanted a club banger type mix cd cause I was going out with some friends.

Actually, I really need to pick up the Madvillain cd; the songs I heard were really good.

Goodies has a good beat as long as you don't listen to the lyrics

I think hip hop has gotten a lot better recently. A year ago I'd say it was fucking garbage. Now I can actually listen to the radio again.

Forgot to mention I already have some of those listed (Goodies, Game Over remix). I'll check the others out though.

Today's hip-pop content is more or less a bunch of BS about living the life of a late-teens-to-early-20s hoodlum, and the beatmaking content is too copycat these days (Yeah, Freakaleek, Goodies and Lean Back Remix all sound the same)
