Since the holidays hit I've really been running the gamut of vodkas out there. I still haven't decided which is my absolut favorite (hohohaha), but these are the ones I appreciate.

I've gotten two bottles of this stuff at work, and though my co-workers say it's cheap shit, I really dig it. It's not offensive to the taste buds and it goes down pretty smoothly by itself, works even better mixed. Great stuff when you just want to try mixes out.

Probably my favorite in terms of price to punch to taste ratio. Can't go wrong with this shit mixed with pretty much anything.

This is suprisingly great with orange juice, better than Absolut Mandarin. Really it's the only thing I drink it with, but it's so good and so good at fucking you up that there's really no need for anything else.

For some fucking designer shit, it's not that bad. I'll go with this when I want to impress... either that or...

'nuff said.

Anyone have any other good shit that i should try? I have not tasted Absolut Vanilla or Kurant. Of course, this doesn't have to be all about vodkas. Cognacs and Brandies are also welcome.

The Goose & Ketel One are pretty tasty. I was drinking Stolichnaya Gold the last two weekends (mixed with Bombay Sapphire, cranberry juice, and ginger ale, yum), and that's pretty tasty stuff, too.

The "chepeast" vodka I'll drink is Absolut. I don't drink often, so when I do, I do it up right.

I'm a big fan of Grey Goose. If I'm feeling cheap I'll go with the Absolut.

Grey Goose goes down easy but is too tasteless. If possible I'd buy Skky all the time, but I stick to

when times are hard. I prefer it to Absolut.

I have other vodka's i like, but the goose is my favorite. I'm so glad i stoped drinking when i did. but damn a great martini does sound good from time to time.

Smirnoff Triple Distilled 100 Proof is what I'll typically get if I'm on a budget. If I'm going premium, Hangar 1 is amazing with Grey Goose coming in at a close second.

I don't like vodka straight and can't really tell the difference when mixed, so I don't much care.

However, it's that time of year again, and the pear drop vodka recipe needs to be spread to the faithful.

Take any piss cheap bottle of vodka. Empty about a 1/4 to 1/3 of it out (into another bottle, obviously), add pear drops until the original bottle is back up to the correct amount (crush them if you can't fit them through the neck). Place vodka in freezer overnight. Check on vodka next morning, continue until all the pear drops have dissolved.

For those who don't know, pear drops are a type of boiled sweet. It works with others, cola cubes for example, but pear drops are my favourite. If anyone doesn't know what boiled sweets are, they're basically really tough sweets you either suck on or have to crunch.

Tito's is crazy good stuff.

Stolichnaya and Pravda are the best though.. there is also this really awesome stuff that one of my mothers friends brings me back from the Ukraine. Its got three little chili peppers on it, I have no idea what its name is (but its not Nemiroff which also has chili peppers on it). If I ever find out what that stuff is called I'll let you know, it has a red hue to it and is smooth as can be.

im not much for expensive designer vodkas, i'm more of a wine/gin/rum man myself. but i enjoy smirnoff and absolut, but another personal favorite, cheap yet quite good quality vodka is, luksosawa, this polish potato vodka.
